Did you notice that those examples you gave are for imported products. Rmove alot of the ENVIORMENTAL regulations on farming here in the U.S. and see what we can do. Remove alot of the ENVIORMENTAL regulations on the coal and oil industries and see how fast we get off forign products. Regulations for the purpose of protecting the consumer against injury or worse is not a bad thing. Regulations solely for the purpose of fining a company for non-compliance is an industry and job killer

I blame Star Trek for this. Now don't get me wrong, I like the shows but most of these dweebs grew up watching a erfect socialist future where money was not needed and a person was allowed to persue nearly any activity that they wanted. What these OWSers fail to take into account is that that future is not possible without one invention. The replicator. The replicator is the perfect socialist tool it makes what ever you need in seconds no waste products and no cost to the user. Until the replicator is made here in the real world people are just gonna have to work for a living, unless of course they want to be beholden to which ever government they are living under.
