This is the most disturbing thing I have read in a long time. Was the four year old acting as a "parent" to the other kids? Did the children have food? The seven month old could not even crawl more than likely, and if he could he could have crawled to the heater vent. Children's brains are at their most vulnerable from 0-3 years, can you imagine what these precious children have witnessed/experienced? Yes ~ the mother and the father should have to undergo mandatory sterilization. And what the hell did it mean that "criminal mistreatment charges" were dropped? The mother is still awaiting trial, let us pray that she never sees her children again, bless those poor little children's hearts.
Looks like decency won!! I hope ICE get's the huge black eye it deserves for going after a high school senior and wanting to deport him to a "foreign land" after he has lived in the U.S. for TWELVE years and barely remembers Mexico. If they would have sent that poor kid back he would have had no where to go ~ and probably would've ended up in child prostitution. Of course that is exactly what the vultures on this blog would've preferred over helping this kid out of a bad situation. This blog is made up of the worst kind of United States American. The ones who REFUSE to see WHO is bringing these illegals here and WHAT President wanted to make them ALL legal. Classic blaming the victim mentality is alive and well on KATU blogosphere. Have you ever actually BEEN to Mexico? The poverty is outrageous. And US agribusiness and other businesses make it far too lucrative for the average poor Mexican to want to live here. The US businesses who hire them and the US drug market are the REAL culprits for the "Mexican invasion". After all, they would not risk life and limb is there was no reward. Mexico is full of wonderful people but unfortunately their government is corrupt and there is NO middle class. Just the very rich, the wealthy and the very poor. Yes, they need to band together and over throw the corrupt government, much like Syria. But until then, don't punish a kid that came here with his parents at a very young age and send him back to a foreign land. At least let him graduate from high school for crying out loud!!

Nantonio ~ the reference -in QUOTES- "legal enough" meant that he could attend school with no questions asked. There is NO school, by the way, in the U.S. that "doctor's" school records to let illegal immigrants into the school system. If I were talking to someone with a heart AND a brain, they would have understood what I was saying. The people who have responded on this site are definitely less intelligent people just by reading the posts. Knuckledraggers to be exact. I have even been accused of being from Mexico. I guess to have compassion for the plight of these undocumented children you have to be from Mexico, eh? Because as we all know, we ARE the UGLY AMERICANS -far be it from us to EVER want to look at the true cause these people cross the border . I do not believe in breaking the laws, as I work with juvenile offenders -- and realize that many high school kids "steal" something from a store at some point in their lives. And if you think that is takes between 2 and 4 years to "do the paperwork and become a legal resident" then you are more ignorant that I originally thought. Do you hear these racist hatemongers screaming about the illegal Canadians in our country? No-not a peep! President GW Bush "opened" the borders and requested amnesty for illegals, due to pressure from his uber rich right wing campaign donors who needed the cheap labor of Mexicans to continue reaping huge profits. But these vultures want to blame the families who came here to put food on the tables and clothes on the backs of their families. They refuse to see WHY these people came here in the first place. Nantonio5 ~ you of all people should understand the difficulty of becoming "legal" in the U.S. He was legal enough to go to school and become a senior in high school. Granted your husband did it the right way and this kids parents did it the wrong way ~ but to punish this kid who has grown up in the United States is disgusting and inhuman. Donamarina: the reason I said greedy WHITE American is because Mexicans ARE americans....Mexico is part of the America's...or where you asleep during history class. And the vast majority of United States American big business people are "WHITE"!!! Yes, it is a sad fact that the parents of this child brought him here illegally...but if you were in their shoes you probably would have done the same thing. And the child WAS seven when he entered the US from Mexico...how the hell do you expect him to "get legal" at that age?????????? Does he even know what INS means??? As he got older he understood his residence status, but as I have personally seen, and as another posted stated, it takes at least TEN YEARS to get legal status. So tell me ~ where would you have the NINETEEN year old (NOT 21) go to in Mexico???? Just dump him off at the border??? Your heartless attitude is the very worst of the bottom feeders of America....shame on you.
