Trains are on these tracks, they're huge, with bright headlights. They make alot of noise, and have extremely loud horns. The ground shakes as they approach. How does this happen? The only thing I bring to the table here, is that many crossing gates in South Bend and Mishawaka lower when no train is around. Drivers then wait and and wonder if a train is really approaching. Frustrated, they either turn around or cautiously go around the lowered gates. IS THAT SAFE? Not really. Norfolk Southern, and Canadian National both need to seriously look into this.
