While I will support Perry if nominated and did vote for him for Governor each time he has run, I still have issues with his style. His "Trans-Texas Corridor" nearly split the state in half in an effort to create a highway between Mexico and Chicago. (Incidentally, the highway was to be built and owned by a Spanish Company - http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1011/65031.h... ) Then there was the MANDATORY vaccination of 14 yr old girls for sexually active related issues, which just happened to be pushed by a former aide to Perry that was now working for Merck Pharmaceuticals - http://www.statesman.com/news/texas-politics/perr... . There are other issues, too, but, tbh, I do like Perry. He is a smart guy that knows how to change courses when he sails into troubled waters and, for the whole, I like most of what he has done here in Texas. However, I am not pleased with his illegal immigration/border policies and what effects those have had on the state. I find many of Ron Paul's libertarian ideas palatable with, of course, the exception of foreign policy, particularly in regard to Israel. Question for Paul supporters - if he's President, but has not aligned himself with anyone from either party - who will introduce his legislation into Congress and fight for it to pass? He might get some Repub supporters, but if he goes indie... The concept that he will do all these wondrous thing, with no Congressional support does not seem plausible, unless he does like the current resident and uses Executive Orders. Wouldn't that be ironic?

Umm... thanks for playing but none of my facts that are incorrect. Can you provide proof that she did not obtain any of the degrees I indicated? I'd love to see the citations. However, you did provide excellent support for my assertion, that, indeed, you are an internet troll. Unfortunately, the only prize for losers is the blinders that keep seeing Obama as successful, but I'm sure you already have a pair of those.

Uhh, while I agree that Desi probably got a lot of doors opened because of Lucy, he was by no way a slacker. He was the brains behind Desilu, negotiating contracts and producing the majority of the shows. When the couple split, he formed his own production company and continued to produce television shows. According to IMDB, he was responsible for the creation of the sitcom format which is still in use today. While there is no doubt that Lucy was talented and, without question, the star, Desi has never gotten the credit for his performances or contributions, in my opinion.

Don't forget, The Carol Burnett Show has already been introduced as a "sit-com" by the author's definition. This opens the door to "Your Show of Shows", "The Red Skelton Show", "The Jack Benny Show", and since we've stretched the definition, possibly even "The Tonight Show". Since all critical analysis is being done by us, the readers, predictions are virtually impossible. The only true data we have to start with is that the shows premiered before 2001. IMO, Lucille Ball was a gifted comedic actress and would have been at the top of my list. That said, this ain't my list.

The 10 points came from a posting on a USENET group. Don't mean to be a downer, but hate to give credit for good ideas to people who don't deserve it.

While we are all familiar with the Commandment, "Thou shalt not kill", we all learned this via the Kings James Translation. More recent works have slightly altered the translation to reflect "Thou shalt not murder" which makes more sense to me. The Torah and Bible are full of instances where tribes are authorized to make war and Jesus encounters many soldiers, but never admonishes any of them. With this newer paradigm, I am completely at peace with my beliefs

NOW (or at least the 70's feminists) used to use the phrase " A woman needs a man like a fish needs a bicycle", so I LOL'ed when Sarah used that phrase back at them. She continues to impress me with her political savvy and instincts. I was disappointed when she did the reality show (almost buying into the msm meme that she "was going for the money"), but then realized what a shrewd move it was to get a new venue to present her ideas and bona fides. I agree, Swede, wherever the political discussion goes in the near future, Ms. Palin will be leading it.

Interesting that most of what you mention is almost straight from Wikipedia. Interesting in that it doesn't mention that Martin Luther King and most African-Americans, in the early '60's were Republicans and that it wasn't until LBJ's Great Society that the blind partisanship began to occur among the people of color. Also, interesting to note the omission that Al Gore's dad (Democrat), Bill Clinton's mentor (Arkansas Governor Fullbright - Democrat) and Robert Byrd (Democrat) were all very strong against integration. So to say that Black Americans shifted to the Democratic party as far back as the 30's is not quite accurate. (might want to look further than Wikipedia next time.) Per Snopes.com (which is very liberally slanted), this quote can only be traced to an anti-Rush book called "101 People Who Are Really Screwing Up America", which does not even cite concrete evidence that this is not totally fabricated. So, unless you have a better source than that, VJ, obviously your name is as big a lie as your claim.
