We Got Served - Connecting Your Digital World : Hands On: IOGEAR GKM581R 2.4GHz Keyboard with Trackball and Scroll Wheel

A couple of queries from the review. Are there nationalised versions available (i.e. UK key layout) and as I am a left-hander, I am not sure how usable the rollball would be placed in the top-right corner.

All we need is either Synology or Drobo to come up with a De-Dupe backup package on their boxes and that is the last nail in the coffin.

I am in the 'me too' bunch here and will be putting all my efforts into improving my V1 setup. I can't see any reason to move as any perceived benefits (and I will still have to dig to find any other that the media streaming) are just not there or covered by long standing V1 add-ins / add-ons.

We Got Served - Connecting Your Digital World : Add-in Update: Feedsource for Windows Home Server

For just monitoring folders, there is the 'Directory Watcher' add-in but its functionality is limited and it won't spot file changes. I use it for creating an HTML directory of useful PDF documents that I can then access through my WHS home page.

We Got Served - Connecting Your Digital World : Hands On: Eminent EM7095 USB Media Player DVB-T

Sounds a bit like some of the findings I had with Eminent's NAS Units which promised much in ideas but missed the target in implementation. It is a shame really as it shouldn't have been to hard to add networking and be able to hit a much wider audience.

We Got Served - Connecting Your Digital World : How to: Link a Rebuilt PC to its Old Windows Home Server Backups

Copying it back to the PC desktop is fine. If you have it on a USB Stick, you can double-click on it there to get the reg key information back into the registry. Windows assumes a file with a .reg suffix is a set of registry keys.

Unfortunately, there is no way (currently known) to merge backups once they have occurred. If you only wanted to keep one of the old backups, you could restore it to a USB drive and then back that up as part of a PC backup. Once done, you could then remove the old PC entry.

We Got Served - Connecting Your Digital World : IFA 2010: Samsung Unveils the Galaxy Tab

I think I want a tablet, but I am just not sure why yet. I am not sure I want one tied to one of the mobile providers - it looks like the Samsung will be offered through Vodafone in the UK. I would rather have one linking via Bluetooth to my existing mobile device for 3G. I anticipate I would use WiFi most of the time. The Toshiba Folio looks interesting as well as the new Archos ones but I am wondering what would be a good screen size. Maybe 10 - 12" in a widescreen format.

They haven't upgrade ANY of their server products from 4.8 to 5.0 yet. That isn't to say they won't at some point. I agree it is a shame they dropped the bundle, but I am happily using the 4.8 Home Server version with the free version 5.0 PC option and it integrates well.
