Breitbart.com : House panel passes college football playoff bill

It appears there is absolutely no piece of American life that the Congress is above controlling. These ne'er do wells are too busy trying to stick their noses where they don't belong, rather than dealing with issues of true national importance. I say whether you like them or not, vote the whole House out.

Big Hollywood : Another 9/11 Travesty

The sad truth is that Obama can't stand on his own. If he doesn't have a Bush ex-presidency to kick around then he's got nothing. He ran against Bush, he won by being Not-Bush, and without Bush, there is Nobama. All he has is that he's not Bush. I think that we all need to quit comparing the two men. We all know he can't compare to Bush (whether you think highly of Bush or think he's a moron, you have to admit that Obama and Bush are opposites) and let's focus on Obama. We'll leave Bush out of it and see how Obama can do on his own.

Breitbart.com : NKorea claims to expand arsenal of atomic bombs

"North Korea using a nuclear bomb would be suicidal" There are two ways to take that comment. The first is that it would be suicidal because their rockets would fail and the bomb would explode on the launch pad. The second way to take the comment is that it would be suicidal because the US would respond by bombing the F out of the North. That requires the belief that the US has the guts to do it. I don't believe our current administration has the guts to do it. The last thing this administration wants is confrontation and I don't think they would respond to actual aggression with counteraggression. They only like to call names (see media wars). When the real crisis comes, we'll see what they're made of.

Big Hollywood : Whoopi 'Not Rape-Rape' Goldberg: Child Advocate

Whoopi is just a woman who made some money doing comedy and acting. Her views are about as important to me as a guy laying drunk on the sidewalk - and that goes for most 'celebrities' today. I don't understand why 'ordinary' people care so much about what these people have to say and I don't understand the fascination so many otherwise normal people seem to have with 'celebrity' lives. They're just people doing a job and sometimes getting paid enormous sums of money for doing it. I must be clueless in Arizona.

Breitbart.com : AP NewsBreak: Nuke agency says Iran can make bomb

I don't know, uptownman.... We're certainly not going to bomb them and Israel might or might not. There will be terrible pressure on the Israelis to hold back and depending on the incentives and/or disincentives to act, they might hold back. Iran has a pretty free hand in all this, so it's really their ball game, with all the rest of us sitting back and simply watching.

Couple of points: 1. They only need one bomb. Once that's launched they're not a target for removal, only revenge. 2. We'll take our losses and determine revenge is inappropriate (see Osama bin Laden) 3. Learn to live with drive by bombings, just like every major American city has learned to live with drive by shootings. There is no solution (wink, wink) so trying to stop it is fool's work (wink, wink)

Big Hollywood : Did You Hear About the Morgans Trashing Sarah Palin?

I have to come down on the side of "it's just a joke - don't get too offended" on this one. Remember Reagan? There was a man who could laugh at what the left found objectionable about him ("They say age is a consideration in this election - I'm willing to accept that my opponent is too young" or something like that).). I know Palin has been raked over the coals along with her family and I don't forgive the libs for one second for doing that, but I think this reference is much more benign, and really typifies what a lib woman would say about a competent woman carrying a gun. I'll give SJP a pass, and recommend my wife see the movie.

Breitbart.com : Change-up: White House sent unsolicited e-mails

Another example of a) an inept White House staff, and b) their dismissiveness of their constituents. Like it not, the pres works for all of us, so we are all his constituents (if not his supporters). The WH staff's disdain for us is both transparent (hey! transparency in Gov't -- finally!) and appalling. The sooner the Dems get someone - anyone - on the WH staff that knows what the h3ll they're doing, the better.

Breitbart.com : Obama disses marriage law as Justice defends it

I like that idea. A LOT! It removes all the fight from the dog, because if your religion doesn't like your definition of marriage, you can find one that does. Unfortunately, we have a long history of government telling us what marriage is, i.e., not letting Utah become a state until polygamy was banned by statute, and it does have tax implications, so while not the easiest solution to impose, it is definitely one of the best.

Breitbart.com : Obama disses marriage law as Justice defends it

As always, my concern isn't that marriage is being REdefined, but rather, it's being UNdefined. For years and years we've known what it is, but if the PoM Act is unconstitutional, then we will have to pass new laws to define what marriage is, and in the interim, there's no definition. And if you think the fight over abortion is nasty, just wait til we try to define marriage, because in fact, it's not an either/or definition. This opens the door for people to ask for all kinds of relationships to be defined as 'marriage.'

Big Hollywood : Fishy

Breitbart.com : Senate reaches deal to save \'clunkers\' program#IDComment29750430

I thought about trading in my Dodge Dakota 4x4 (15.5 average mpg) for a Pontiac Solstice (22 average mpg) but a) my truck doesn't qualify as a gas guzzler per the CARS website, and b) even if it did, I could only trade it in on another truck, not a passenger car. So I guess I'll continue to get crappy gas mileage, but I like the truck, so I can live with that. Economically, it makes a lot more sense to keep the truck -- it would take a lot of gallons of gas to offset the cost of a new car -- but a Solstice sure would be fun.
