Jim, The real reason SE Fort Wayne experiences such a low turnout is because its voters have been turned away on election day? Isn't that a bit of a stretch? I would love to see the evidence, anecdotal or otherwise, to support that. I'm not suggesting they don't feel disenfranchised, only the reason isn't they've not been allowed to vote.

Paula's negative campaign ads are a big turnoff. I was dumbfounded by the radio ad I heard yesterday mocking Liz Brown and Eric Doden.

Mr. McGauley will be a great asset to the Bonahoom team. His revamping of the Recorder's office has been impressive. Will be interesting to see how his ideas and influence improve the Clerk's office as well.

They could have shortened it to the "Baals Center" and resolved the matter. Two more points: 1) This is a major PR Fail . Like you mentioned in an earlier piece, this was an attempt to give the appearance of citizen input. The city just rubbed their noses in it. 2) Don't ask a question unless you know what the answer will be.

I disagree with Mr. Clark's assessment regarding the social issues. By walking out and effectively killing HB 1205, Democrats don't have to go on record as voting for/against defunding Planned Parenthood.

The Ellenbergers should be able to collect for resulting damages under their homeowners insurance policy. Unfortunately, reroofing itself is probably excluded. Not ideal, but an option. Anytime you hire a contractor to work on your property, be sure to get a Certificate of Insurance. Make certain it includes liability as well as workers comp. Doing so affords you and your insurance company the opportunity to subrogate against their carrier.

At the very least Barry/Hardball et. al. should be required to fill in/sod the gaping hole while negotiations are ongoing. Every time we drive by the stadium we're reminded it's not finished. EVERY future contract MUST include a bid and performance bond to protect the good people of Fort Wayne.
