If I remember correctly, back in 2010 Meath put 5 goal past Dublin in a championship game and The press were clambering for Gilroy's head. He showed them a year later and paved the path for the success to come

I had an experience with Ger Cunningham once while working in Croke Park. He did himself and his County no favours. I was amazed when he got the Dublin Job. All the best to the new management. Would be an amazing feat to get Dublin to an All Ireland Final during their tenure.
