Big Journalism : Limbaugh Apologizes to Birth Control Subsidy Shill

Rush's point was well taken, and missed and/or distorted by the left. End of story. But even though I agree with him in principle, if it was one of my two daughters he called a slut in a national forum, I'd pop him in the nose. Just sayin.

Big Hollywood : Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night, Andrew

Very nice tribute. AB left some huge shoes to fill. I just hope that whoever tries to fill them remembers that part of what made him so special was his willingness not just to call bull$---- when it was warranted (and it often was), but also to sit down and have a thoughtful discussion about the issues. He'll be missed.

Way more excited for "Dark Knight Rises," but this does look pretty Marvel-tastic. I have faith in Joss Whedon, but balancing all those characters in a coherent story is going to be a challenge.

Big Hollywood : 'Tower Heist' Blu-ray Review: Perfect Piece of Popcorn Entertainment

LOL. No offense. There were parts of "Superman Returns" I loved -- especially some of the iconic shots of Supes hovering over the earth, and throwbacks to the Richard Donner original (Brando as Jor El) -- but it didn't do much for me as a whole. Much more excited for Zack Snyder's upcoming "Man of Steel."

Big Hollywood : ‘Game of Thrones’ Review: Gripping and Unpredictable

Thank you, BH for finally acknowledging this great series! Can't wait to pick up the set next week and for the start of the new season. Peter Dinklage is deserving of all the recognition he got for playing Tyrion, and can't wait to see more of him. Plus, there's a a river battle coming that I can't wait to see brought to life.

I hated that Ratner dumped so many new characters into the mix without any real development; that Cyclops -- who was an integral character in the first two -- was abruptly offed without any emotional payoff; that the Sentinals (not that they're even called by name) were wasted with a nonsensical scene at the beginning; and there are too many story threads without any real point to them. Not to mention, the FX were a big downgrade from "X2." I wasn't looking for slavish devotion to the comics, just a worthy followup to what came before. This wasn't it. But, different strokes for different folks.

Ugh ... this movie sucked. Period. Ben Stiller wore out his welcome years ago, Matthew Broderick just looked old and sad, and Eddie Murphy seemed muzzled in a role that he should have just ran wild with. But then again, you thought Ratner's "X-Men 3" was awesome, so there's obviously some sort of disconnect.

Big Hollywood : Next Year, Sacha Baron Cohen Should Host the Oscars

Amen to that ... though now that I think about it, the title "The Walking Dead" would seem to be fitting for the Oscars telecast as well. When it came decision time, though, watching Shane try to take off Rick's head with a giant wrench was more appealing than another boring, predictable awards show.

"Unforgiven" is going to be a must-buy for me on Blu-ray. Feel free to be intrigued by the prospect of Eddie Murphy in "Tower Heist," but steel yourself for a movie that will disappoint in almost every way.

Big Hollywood : Pitchfork Media Gives a 10.0 Rating to 'Bloody Revolution'

I can't stand Pitchfork ... the "holier-and-hipper-than-thou" pretentiousness drips from every single review and write-up. Most of what they champion is unlistenable. It's easy to gripe about the liberal rag that Rolling Stone has become (and it has), but at least their music reviewers don't show a constant disdain for anything outside an extremely narrow realm of what they consider worthy.

Big Hollywood : Daily Call Sheet: Weinstein Hearts Netflix, Dictator at the Oscars, and Happy Ash Wednesday

I think it's fantastic that a movie with no stars and no sound will likely trump all of Hollywood's product this year at the Oscars. Of course, no stars and no sound is likely the reason my local theater hasn't shown "The Artist." Glad that it will debut on streaming Netflix before pay cable, but for how long after its DVD debut will this be? I love their streaming service, but have kept my DVD subscription because it's very rare that current movies I want to see move to streaming in a timely manner. *** "We have never said the words Democrat or Republican on the show, and we never will." -- One of the many reasons I love "Parks and Rec" ... although Ron Swanson is the best.

Palin has lost her luster, to me anyway, with the lengthy teasing "I may run" routine that kept her selling books and in the public eye for the last year ... only to decline to run against a lackluster GOP field that she could have eaten for breakfast. So, thanks for nothing, Sarah. But ... this movie is ridiculous. I read "Game Change" -- and 90 percent of the book was a juicy, gossipy account of the Obama-Clinton battle. THAT is the movie people would have tuned in for, just to see how low these two were willing to go to get the nomination. HBO instead took the slimmest portion of the book and blew it up into something no one wants to see. Epic fail.
