Zelda Dungeon : Ocarina of Time 3DS

I'm just worried about the controls and if they preserve the story line. If they mess that up, I'm going to be angry. I hope they'll remake OoT MQ too, I actually enjoyed the game.

Re-makes aren't bad. In fact, it re- introduces the game to a younger crowd (I mean, how many 7 year olds do you know that still have a N64?) My problem is when the change the story line so much that it's unrecognizable. I don't mind it when they add to the story either, like in ocarina of time master quest. My question is are the controls going to be ok? I mean, i cant really think of how they're going to graph the controls over to the DS, unless they make it 2D, which would suck (I mean like it's looking from above, just with 3D graphics).

Zelda Dungeon : Skyward Sword Content Now Online

Wait, so is the skyward sword going to become the master sword, or is link going to retrieve the master sword? (I just read what Zelda Dungeon has on the story line). If that is the case, does this mean that this happens before Zelda, and before the Classic Zelda game, or is it like right before OoT, or what? On a different note, I normally don't like toon link that much cause he has the whole giant head and big eyes thing, but I thing they did a good job on him in this game.

Zelda Dungeon : Featured Thread: Why Zelda Wii Should Incorporate GCN/Classic Controller Option!

Ok, I agree that it would be useful to be able to use a classic-style controller to play the new Zelda Wii, but the problem with adding that feature this far into the game desighn is that it would draw back a large part of the planned game play because a large part of said game is the sword play. The game would feel a little stiff if you where to "graph" the motion controls to an existing controller. It would be similar to how shooters feel so different on a computer compared to a console.

Zelda Dungeon : More Zelda Wii Rumors Floating Around

Agreed. The whole wolf thing in TP was cool, but it also annoyed me in the City of the Sky when you have to tight-rope cause i had taken a long break and forgot you can only tight rope as a wolf. You'd thing Link would be able to balance with skills like the back-slash, helm- splitter, and spin attack.

Ok, fine, i only know of four (LttP, OoT, WW, and TP), possibly six if it's in the origonal and AoL, but I still stand my my case. I dont think there's any other blade in Legend of Zelda that's more reconisable.

I love everything in the list except for the mastersword and crossbow thing. Now, the only reason i dont like the mastersword thing is that it is a major part of zelda, and i hope they at least make the mastersword a side or quest item. The reason i dont like the crossbow change is that A) in my opinion, bows pwn crossbows majorly, and B) the bow and arrow has always been one of link's items. I cant think of one game where link didnt have a bow. at least with the mastersword change, your still getting a sword, and they'll probably have a good story behind it like the four sword (the phantom sword's story sucked). With a crossbow, it's an entierly different weapon! then again, mabye i just dont like change...

I agree with almost everything you said except the "Perferably not start out with the forest temple," thing. I do agree it has gotten a little old (but personally, I dont mind as long as the dungeon is fun), but if you where to change the idea of link starting in the forest you would be changing a major part of the story line. Link holds the triforce of courage, which came from the godess Farore, who govrens the forest. Because link starts in the forest (this is just a theory, btw) Link is able to be closer to Farore which protects him. And then to your "doing the doungeons in no particular order" idea, yes it would be more fun to some people, but then the dungeons would have to be dumbed down because the writers would not be able to predict which item you got first, and the story line would not be able to be as complex because then you might arrive in the wrong place at the wrong time, which would throw the order of the plot off.

That's true, and that made me like those games even more. Now, if I want to complain, I could say "yeah, but they aren't required items," but those are good items, and if you are someone who likes to 100% the game, then it doesn't matter.

...But I would like to see boss battles in which more strategy is involved, and Items that are not only useful in one dungeon (OoT's slingshot ring any bells). I also hate how some of the most useful items (LttP's red tunic) can only be obtained towards the very end. I think that Items that are going to be extremely useful should be obtained somewhere in the middle, or be made obtainable through side quests somewhere before the final boss. Basically, what I think is that while I like mases ideas, I won't complain if the bosses aren't updated, and I'm more annoyed by the useless items (man, I can ramble uselessly sometimes).

I have to say, I agree with mases for the most part. The boss battles have become to easy and predictable. All you have to do is find some pattern and abuse it to beat the boss. Now I do say that you should give the game designers some credit, it's probably difficult to change a 2D game into a 3D game and keep bosses from having similar traits to other bosses in other games. But on the other hand, look how far the tektites have evolved science the Original Zelda title (they love those things for some reason, tektites and bushes. I don't think I've ever seen one Zelda title without either of those things). ...

The enthusiasm is appreciated, but no. That would just make the battle too long and annoying. Something like in OoT, when you have to use both the hammer and a light arrow to weaken gannon before being able to strike him was good because it forced the player to use multiple items, and still kept the main quest item (the master sword) in play. I also like the boss battle in Phantom Hourglass to the extent that it gave you a new ability you had to use, and made you use the Phantom Sword (or whatever it was called), but I would have liked to see more items used in that battle, like maybe you had to use the hammer to break some of the armor on the second stage on Bellum, but that's aside from the point. Too many items would just make the battle last too long and make the fight tedious at best. Having the option to use all of your items but having it not be required would be a good thing because then it would create more strategy on the player's part.

Zelda Dungeon : Princess Zelda: What She Is, Ain't, and Ought To Be

I like the OoT and Windwaker Zeldas. The princess peach Zelda is just plain annoying, and it seems irresponsible dragging a princess through dungeons and putting her in dangerous situations. I mean honestly, she's a princess, i dont think you should chance her getting killed (that last part i was jk about. I think the sidekick Zelda is an interesting concept, but i havent played spirit tracks, so I wouldnt know how to judge the hole sidekick thing.)

I see what you're saying, and my responce is, depends on the story line. If it's like OOT, where you have to get the 3 crystals of the forest, fire, and water (power of the godesses) to get the master sword, then no. Now, lets say they make a game where you have to find the power of the godesses in order to defeat whatever bad guy they decide to make, or your goal it to get the power to go through the final 3 dungeons to save the godesses, or anything where you need to do something relating to the godesses last, then fine, you have a point. (i should develop an idea for that seccond game, that'd be sweet. Or they could make the Zelda Unknown Orgins series into a game [for those who dont know, Zelda UO was a story developed by some dude that a guy who's youtube name is scootofwooks {or something like that} started making into a mini series, read the story, or watch the series to see what i mean).

As mases said, i have to see it in action before i can actually have an accurate opinion. My major worry wit the new console is the touch screne application of the 3D games. If they try to do anything too fancy, it might make the system too buggy to use.

i dissagree, the master sword is one of the major items of the series, and to completely get rid of the master sword would be getting rid of a major part of the zelda plot. it'd be like getting rid of the triforce or Zelda, sure, the concept of both is over used in the games (and in Zelda's case, she can get kind of annoying), but they're major parts of the story.
