Stuff Christians Like - Jon Acuff : Acting surprised when God doesn’t seem close.

Jon whats your take on Pat Robertson and this Haiti thing, I personally think it is the biggest load of junk, I posted a blog on my website. I think that it has something to do with what you are talking about though. He said that God is punishing Haiti for making a pact with the devil. Do you think that God punishes us when we screw up? Its a slightly different take on being surprised when God doesn't seem close. we delve into things that push us away from God. Is it God punishing us or just natural consequences for our actions?

Stuff Christians Like - Jon Acuff : Rage in the church parking lot.

This is great... I was asking my self a similar question what is the appropriate retaliation. A couple of weeks ago a lady in the walmart parking lot in our town pulled into the parking stall behind the car my wife and I were sitting in having a conversation. The problem was there was a buggy in her stall so she just pushed it out of the way and straight into the back of our car. I got out and in a moment of frustration said you should be more careful (no really thats what i said) and she said I should kiss her @$$. I told my wife i wanted to put the buggy she pushed into the back of our car on the roof of her giant van, I could just imagine this 45 yearold lady's face when she came out of the store, you bet she would know who did it. muh ha . my wife said no and that it would be planting bad seed. She is such a kill joy some times what would have been the correct retaliation?

Stuff Christians Like - Jon Acuff : Debating whether God is a Mac or a PC.

So I missed Shameless saturday. So I thought i would plug my comment on that post. Please check it out or check out my intense debate profile. macs are reliable and user friendly, they are straight forward, they are white to signify purity, and there is only one mac. PC is plagued with problems there are a hundred companies out there making pc's you never know which is the real one. and they are complicated as all get out. GOD IS A MAC

Stuff Christians Like - Jon Acuff : Wondering if the guy next to you will share gum once you've seen it.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I am never worried about getting gum at church, I always show up to church and sneak in the back with my bacon and egg on a bagel and coffee. It is probably horrible for all the people sitting around me, that smell of freshly cooked bacon floating through the air in the back of the church. Why would you worry about gum when you can bring bacon to church. I don't know if there is some church dedicate I am completely ignoring but church and bacon are a great combination.

Stuff Christians Like - Jon Acuff : Looking for Goliath.

I just wrote a blog about something similar to this on January 1st, at www.danbyl.com this is such a big thing for many of us waiting for our moment in the sun. I know I am trying to find mine, trying to work at creating new opportunities. I am currently working on something that I think will help build the projects I am working on. It seems that we put in so much work in the hope that we get something back, sometimes it flops sometimes it takes off but the key is that you learn all you can, and that we wait for Gods timing instead of rushing ahead.
