I'd rather watch the National Garbage Men Award show. At least they'd be honoring people who work for a living.

Big Hollywood : The Politics of 'Star Trek': 'Patterns of Force'

"Anyone who runs a business" You're right. Everyone running a business is bad and you should teach them a lesson. You can start by growing your own food because grocery stores are a business and you wouldn't want to support them. But make sure you go out and gather seeds by hand because buying them from a garden shop would be wrong too. But make sure to walk because driving to the countryside to gather seeds would support the automobile and gasoline industries. And when you till the soil to plant your hand-gathered seeds, make sure you use your hands or a sharp stick because you wouldn't want to use a hoe or shovel made by one of those evil corporations. Your comment is not only wrong, but a perfect example of blind liberalism. You've bitten on to a liberal talking point "business is bad, businessmen are evil" and you refuse to see things any other way.

Actually, Liberals are all about the needs of the few outweighing the needs of the many. Perfect example: Frisbees and footballs outlawed on Los Angeles coutny beaches. Holes deeper than 18 inches cannot be dug so better keep a close eye on those children playing in the sand. A FEW people whined and complained and filed their lawsuits and now the MANY of us have to deal with their stupidity. Liberalism is all about a FEW people thinking they know what's best for everyone and if we would just shut up, put our heads down, and do what we're told, then we'd all be much happier little drones.

Big Hollywood : Top 10 Ways Hollywood Can Win Its Audience Back

Because the majority are poorly written or completely rewrite the backstory for the heroes (Wolverine / X-Men: First Class) or the main character is portrayed by someone that has no business playing them (Nic Cage - Ghostrider / Ben Affleck - Daredevil). I really don't want to see Hollywood's "take" on the heroes I grew up with. I don't want to see an agenda being pursued (mutants are a metaphor for homosexuality). I'm tired of Hollywood giving us FanFic versions of these heores over and over again. I want to see them brought to the big screen in full comic book glory. Superman fighting for truth, justice and the AMERICAN way.

Poltergeist was only PG-13. Horror has too long been equated with blood and boobs thanks to Friday the 13th. It is quite possible to make a truly terrifying film without having to resort to having naked women run around throwing out "F-bombs" while being covered in gouts of blood. Though Hollywood would beg to differ.

I would love to see Ciaphas Cain from the Warhammer 40k series brought to the movie screen. He's an anti-hero in that he's very focused on his own survival but is continually placed into situations where when push comes to shove, he chooses the hard and selfless action over the selfish. Also really enjoyed Coriea's "Monster Hunters Int'l". A lot of potential for a series of movies there.

I enjoyed the movie version even though they beat you over the head with the "save the planet" theme. But read the book by Whitley Streiber, it is FAR superior to how they translated it to the screen. Reading from the perspective of the Wolfen themselves is chilling. Reading how the wolf pack hunts as a single-minded unit, how they can tell when a human is carrying a concealed gun from the smell of the gun oil, knowing instantly when the human is aware of them from the sudden scent of fear...

Every time is see Obama, I'm reminded of the villain from 4th season of the Joss Whedon series 'Angel' http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jasmine_(Angel) "When Angel and Connor see her for the first time, they both fall to their knees, having quickly fallen under her thrall. Jasmine appears before the rest of Angel's crew, turning them into her followers and announcing, despite the great evil done in her name, her plan is to bring world peace and the elimination of evil, starting with Los Angeles. However, peace comes at a high price. One drawback is that Jasmine secretly needs to devour a certain amount of humans to maintain her force. For this, she usually chooses people both beautiful and fit, but also people that had been lost and in pain, sparing those proving useful for the society she plans on creating. The real problem, however, is Jasmine's mind control virtually eliminates free will from the world, with everyone being unable to do much of anything except praise and serve Jasmine all day." The parallels are frightening...

Again, read the Waiver portion of the bill. It is vaguely worded to the point where it could be used to apply to Subsection (b)(1) which covers American citizens and allow the President to detain ANYONE for national Security reasons as long as he submits a Certification to Congress.

You need to go back and read the deliberately vague wording of the damn bill. Paragraph (a)(4) is deliberately vague in indicating which Paragraph (1) it is referring to: (4) WAIVER FOR NATIONAL SECURITY.—The President may waive the requirement of paragraph (1) if the President submits to Congress a certification in writing that such a waiver is in the national security interests of the United States. If it is applied to Paragraph (a)(1) it determines WHO will do the detaining: (1) IN GENERAL.—Except as provided in paragraph (4), the Armed Forces of the United States shall hold a person described in paragraph (2) who is captured in the course of hostilities authorized by the Authorization for Use of Military Force (Public Law 107–40) in military custody pending disposition under the law of war.
