Those puns ARE amazing...but whenever I get to the line "What a wonderful wonder friendship brings"...it's the proverbial stray LEGO, stomped on in the middle of a tap-dance routine. I wince every time. It seems like such a filler line...maybe it's just me. It's still the classic opening though, minus the montage with each of the mane 6 "and magic makes it all complete!", which I've grown rather fond of.

The Italian is pretty awesome, definitely feeling the anime vibe there. SO CATCHY TOO. Still, it doesn't seem to be a perfect match for the show itself. It's geared towards the more adventure-like episodes, and the show is more 'slice-of-life'...

...grr. I guess I'll go English. But my mp3 player has both, so why should I have to choose?

a is such a sweeping epic, 9 story arcs is certainly much too few. But, it's a nice improvement! Also, can I get a strong recommendation for Tales of the Winter Magic Academy? It's quite tempting, and has been on my to-do list forever.

Well, the story itself was an...interesting piece, something fun to think about, about what I would expect of a one-shot-esque. The storm brewing here, though, seems more interesting. Maybe I need to have more tenure with visiting EqD (I've been visiting hourly for the past seven months or so) but this doesn't seem HUGELY 'out-of-place'...compared to the longer, more in-depth stuff that's already here, it's fairly middle-grade, but the stars seem to reflect that...so I'd say the system works for this one. Whether this pushed out a feature that 'deserved it more' or not is a rather restrictive way of thinking. EqD already does an excellent job of 'trimming out the fat' as far as I'm concerned, the rest should be up to me as a reader.

That said, these surreal pieces are great in and of themselves, but aren't typically what I sit down to read. I just finished 'It's a Dangerous Business, Going Out Your Door', and I'm deeply entrenched in 'Ballad of Echo the D-Dog'. There's a large body of that style of work to keep me happy for the next several months, so consider my jimmies distinctly NOT rustled.

I'm pretty well hooked on this one. The pacing is great, and the OCs are engaging and believable, and in Coconut's case, just plain fun and awesome. Shaping up to be quite the adventure tale, which is just the right shade darker than the Equestria we see every day.

One question though: The story's at, like, chapter 17 now. So, where does "part 4" come from?
