Nick thought it was a good idea and revelled in it. It was a good campaign engineered by Jim Dowson and others. A lot of hard work went into it and it raised morale and considerable sums of money. Money makes the political cogs turn and can be seen as a form of success by members and supporters. Churchill also changed parties he was very much a pragmatist. Today we have a nation with a broken spirit and people devoid of morale and wavering at every turn. A leader shows compassion and understanding and tries to raise up the individual. He doesn't do 'too hard bin it' he shows that he deserves to lead with his human qualities and understanding. The British don't do dictatorship. They do strong leadership but with understanding and the common touch. That is why the country is crying out for real leadership instead of the false pathetic individuals leading the LIB/LAB/CON trick.
