The Current State Master Councilor (head boy for the state) is an active member there now. I'm a member of Milwaukie Lodge and am currently an adult involved in their DeMolay Chapter since my son is in it. All the leaders of the youth groups have to have an intensive background check. It took 3 months for them to do my wife and mine. I have to do a plug for DeMolay as a good supplement. It's the Masonic boys group and it gets more involved in the business side of leadership. Although the Masons and it's other groups require a belief in a supreme being, they don't band people from any religion or lack there of. It's not a religion or cult, as some see it, but more of a fraternity. You don't have to be a Mason for your son and you to be involved in DeMolay and we encourage parents to come with the boys and watch what they are doing.
