QOTD: I do not believe it is a form of acceptable behavior.

To play devil's advocate though, I also feel that it is not acceptable for the WWE to expect their customers to sit anywhere north of 4 hours without having any clue of the match order. It seems many issues within WWE are self-induced. I really find it difficult to believe that on a given night of Raw or a PPV, an audience member is interested in all that is being offered by the WWE. If they simply released the match order, even the afternoon of the event once things are finalized, it would allow both the home viewer as well as those in attendance the time to have a personal cool-down to accomplish other things (get food, bathroom break, visit the merch stand). It may also help rectify the obvious burn-out you see from each crowd during events that are running longer in duration (they can save their excitement for the matches that most appeal to them).

Great Column, first time reader.

Opposed to what sichadelic stated, I am one that left WWE programing following WM33 (after 30+ years of viewership). Watched a few of the "Big 4" PPVs, but otherwise left for virtually every reason stated above.

I found the lack of in-ring psychology and the evolution of the a typical match to be the overall deal-breaker. When Stone Cold and The Rock traded false finishes many years ago at Wrestlemania, it had never been done before and wowed the audience. Today, the viewer has been trained that a false finish will happen and that paying attention until that point is unnecessary.

In a world in which we have more entertainment options than ever before, and one could argue we are living in a golden age of television, spending so much down-time on a typical WWE product (recaps/commercials/854th match between 2 wrestlers, boring authority open to Raw, etc.), is unfortunately very tedious for a lapsed viewer, let alone trying to build an audience. Is it possible to navigate this form of entertainment with someone that has never watched and tell them of the time commitment to weekly viewership? What about telling them Wrestlemania is now an 8 hour ordeal?

If WWE continues to create an absurd amount of content with little or no consequence to actually viewing, it would be nice to have a monthly 1 hour show to recap the month, much like what you see with professional sports leagues that run their one hour recap of the day.

Um, is this article trying to reference the Electronic Entertainment Expo is Los Angeles that is often times referred to as E3? If so, can’t wait for The Last of Us 2.

Nice column Tito!

I understand the desire to continue on consuming the product to reach a goal of 20 years. Like I have said in the comments section previously, the amount of content is difficult for someone who has other interests besides wrestling. I have gone to pretty much watching "The Big 4" and even then I get burned out by the amount of wasted time and the continual overtime length of the shows (I bowed out before Lesnar/Reigns at Wrestlemania). It was too much. Between WWE's produced video packages, columns such as this, and YouTube videos that cover the industry, I am not missing out, and was able to cut my consumption down to a much more manageable amount because there is simply other forms of entertainment to consume (Westworld top among them and will beat out any WWE programming the next 9 Sundays).

If you are looking at other avenues to express your love for the industry, there are a handful of personalities that create content on YouTube. I feel there is a distinct void in the YouTube arena with someone that dissects the business from a financial/economic perspective. I wouldn't even recommend putting a face up, but simply use pictures or use a format like NerdSoup does with animated characters. Plenty of options and wish you the best on whichever path you choose.

I would wager Brock is not too fond of the idea of traveling to Saudi Arabia. Hence, if this was a last minute decision he would not be happy after the match.....

I'm shocked, but I also am happy for her. I have followed her since she started in Strikeforce prior to UFC, and while her fighting career has been discussed ad nauseum, to win a bronze medal in Judo and compete at the highest level of MMA means she is a very dedicated individual.

She might not become the greatest wrestler overnight, and we are all aware of some of her shortcomings pertaining to becoming a wrestler, but I look forward to her journey as I know her abilities in the squared circle will continue to improve over time.

US Bank Stadium has the NCAA men's basketball Final Four in 2019. The head of US Bank Stadium is a former WWE employee. It will eventually head to US Bank.

I welcomed the news that Wrestlemania is going to MetLife stadium. It means that as I pretty much stopped watching the WWE product, but come to this site to see if anything has actually changed, it gives me another year where I don't feel compelled to tune in.

It's 215 miles, about 3.5 hours to drive, so not that far. Problem with Boston is their NFL stadium is open air, much like Met Life Stadium in New York.

There is also US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis and Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta that have recently opened up...

US Bank had the Super Bowl this year and the men's basketball Final Four in 2019.

Well said. I do watch "The Big 4," but other than that, I am done with weekly shows and monthly PPVs. There is enough video packages to get everyone caught up to date before each match, so spending hours watching the same formulaic matches doesn't seem necessary at this point. I challenge anyone to point me in the general direction of when something "shocking" or "unbelievable" happened in the confines of WWE. I go back to Punk's Pipe Bomb, which happened June 27, 2011, almost 7 years ago. I don't expect to be shocked or taken off guard each and every week, but I need more than one a decade.
