I believe the government would use it as another way to limit our 2nd amendment rights unfortunately. I was raised around firearms and use them on a very regular basis in hunting a target shooting. Been doing it for many years....so I do understand what you are saying......and would agree........IF the government could be trusted to do it properly. I would certainly encourage anyone buying a weapon to get training if they are not already adept at handling firearms. That should be common sense....although "common sense" doesn't seem so common anymore. Hunters safety courses do very good job in preparing young hunters as do concealed handgun training courses.......NRA and some other sponsored organizations do an excellent job of this. But to require it by law could limit citizens the right to protect themselves....and in so doing, violate the 2nd. Don't trust the government in it's current form to do this properly....perhaps if we can get these idiot politicians to adhere to the constitution.........
