But they did! They *passed a resolution* saying "from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free" is anti-Semitic!

( on a serious note, that's concerning that they passed that)

No, this was a strategic warning attack. The attack puts pressure on Israel to de-escalate since most countries don't want WWIII. It also gives Iran more intel on which sides countries will take and about Israel's military defense capabilities so it (1) helps Iran better determine its negotiation strategy w/r/t Israel and (2) has more information should it come to WWIII.

I am sure everyone will respond calmly and work on handling the situation through diplomatic means.

(On a serious note, Iran has been remarkably restrained throughout all of this.)

That was my thought with this. The kids are likely going to find out about and possibly be interested in the books at some point in the future. Instead of not letting them read it - which means that if they do read it they'll hide it from you and have a peer-influenced view of the books - it's better to be up front about what you think of the books/author and let them process the issues that arise from the books/author with you guys.

I think the kids should have the option of reading them but you can let them know what you think of the books/her. You can probably get the books used or from the library so she doesn't profit from it (if you guys don't have a copy already). It could also lead to a lot of good discussions with the kids on ethical consumption, racism, transphobia, etc.

(Related: do schools have Harry Potter as part of their curriculum anymore? Was wondering since even if Ms. Maxi changes her mind they may end up reading them anyway.)
