Ancient Greeks and then Romans accepted same sex attraction as normal and even encouraged their soldiers to develop relationships with other soldiers. They believed that would bond them together into a stronger fighting unit. Since then, there has beed acceptance of homosexuality during the enlightenment, and other times as well. Even the time between WWI and WWII their was a broad acceptance of homosexuality in Europe. Acceptance of homosexuality has ebb and flowed throughout history, this new modern day acceptance is not new.
