The Protest Needs Teeth.

So far, everyone's been shouting about how angry they are about everything. Now, this is a good first step, but shouting doesn't do anything. The politicians and the media will continue to arrogantly meddle in the lives of the people of this and every other country until they are either removed from office or successfully defied. In short, the Tea Parties need to advance to the next logical stage- Passive Resistance. This is not a call for violence- the government has proved repeatedly that it can win in a firefight. Likewise, parades and other things that rely on popularity won't penetrate the left wing propaganda machine. As such, three tactics remain to return this country to capitalism:

1. Boycotts. This will help to fight those companies that are in bed with the government- GE, the New York Times, etc. With the recent government buyouts, this also hurts potential government revenue. In other words, don't buy GM cars. With the media, boycott the sponsors. These are old ideas, but nobody seems to be doing them.

2. Sit-ins. Take up space at doorways of important buildings en masse until the owner of those buildings yield to the mob. For instance, camping in front of the Federal Reserve building until they open their books, or blocking the halls of the Senate until they actually read the upcoming Cap & Trade bill.

3. Go to jail. Fill up the prisons so they can't enforce their laws anymore. There will be chaos in the streets and the legal system will be crippled until the legislature meets the protestor's demands. Because few people are willing leave their day jobs to go to jail, I'd suggest this after a few years of the Obama economy leave a bunch of people unemployed and willing to go to jail rather than take a government job. This might work for decreasing Fed Reserve power or fighting the income tax. For instance, the massive tea party crowds can get together on April 15 next year like they did this year, and flood the prison systems.

Possible demands:

Key members of the administration (Nancy Pelosi, Chris Dodd, Barney Frank, etc.) resign. This would be especially good with the jail protests.

Repeal the Cap & Trade act. Good as a sit-in, maybe jail.

Sell off all the govt stock of GM, etc. Good with boycotts, etc.

Audit the Federal Reserve. Sit-in.

Abolish the IRS. LOTS of jail time for this one, would need to do in stages- lessening the power first, maybe replacing the income tax with a flat tax, etc.

Fire the tsars. Would also need drastic measures done in stages, like the IRS.

Various constitutional amendments. I'd like one saying federal laws have to obey state constitutions to be valid in that state. Thus judicial review is transferred to the states, as well as the Supreme Court. That way both bodies are on the lookout for constitutional violations. Don't really know what sort of protest would help this one.

Legalized Secession.

So long as demands are kept small and reasonable, and protests are done constantly (not just on a few significant dates), some progress should be made against the government. The trick is not to try to make a few massive blows to the system, but to eat away at it like water eats away at rock. The slow blade may enter the shield.

I've posted a couple ideas on this already, but it looks like y'all could use it. As I understand it, charitable donations are tax deductible. So, if you donate lots to charities, the government takes less from your pocket. Another way to pay no income tax is to earn no income- but this only works for rich investors and retirees. Hope this helps.

2. Quit. Leave your job, liquidate your assets, and pull out of the economy in general. No income- no income tax. While this is a bit harsher and more over the top than the charity idea, it will attract more attention and will hurt the entire economy, not just the government. While this will only really work for major investors- "Coach" from Thursday's Glenn Beck- it will disrupt society more than going to jail or donating to charity. And let's face it, part of the problem is society- there is a major part of America that DOES want the welfare state, that DOES want government to run everything- and this parasitic part of society depends on the producers for survival. The meddlers in Washington want to enslave industrialists to the economy- so it is fitting they should leave it entirely. An Atlas Shrugged style mass withdrawal of capital would not only have tax benefits but also help to remind the government of its proper place. Furthermore, this would save the capital for use when freedom and industry are encouraged once again in this country.

Hi. I've had a couple ideas about not paying taxes, and thought this might be the place to put them. While breaking the law is big and dramatic and possibly successful, it's also something nobody seems to want to even think about- as if jail is the modern-day boogey man. However, I've thought of a couple potential LEGAL ways to withhold government funds:

1. Donate to charities. As I understand it, charitable donations are tax-deductible. Thus, the more money you give to a charity, the less Uncle Sam takes from you. Thus, while it won't help your wallet any (in fact, the amount of donations required to counteract taxes might be MORE than the amount demanded in taxes), it will still hurt the govt- without sending you to jail.

I've had an idea: Get a bunch of like-minded guys to move into an area with a scumbag representative. Locals won’t get rid of their incumbents, they’ve been bought by pork. Thus, to do something about the 98% incumbency rate, we need foreigners. For instance, to get rid of Nancy Pelosi, a bunch of conservatives would move to her district in California and vote against her in upcoming elections. In another vein, they could invade sparsely populated districts and elect a third party. After all, nothing scares a guy like the threat to take his job, and a rise in third parties would probably scare the Republicrats a great deal. 912 project (or some guy with a lot of spare time on his hands) could make a list of "scumbag" politicians and where they represent, facilitating a mass migration there. Ironically, this is how Texas got settled and brought into the US, and what many fear the Mexicans will do upon crossing our border (massive foreign population moving in and setting the agenda to favor another nation). It’s also similar to the Free State Project, only less concentrated and more “grassroots.”
