Big Peace : What Is Islamophobia?

But they didn't try to pretend that there was such a thing as 'Islamophobia' until the mid-1990s, and even then, nobody listened to that nonsense until after 9/11 when they started pushing it more strongly. Not that anyone has ever shown any sort of statistical proof that there is any such thing as 'Islamophobia' in the US.

"Islamophobia" actually started in the mid-1990s, well before 9/11. Nobody bothers talking about it per-2001 because it was even more ridiculous then.

What's really funny is that it's the second letter of the Hebrew alphabet that we often see as a name: Beth. If she has another daughter, it'd be perfect!

The Falk article is the same one he posted to his blog with a blatantly anti-Semitic cartoon of a dog wearing a shirt that reads USA and a yarmulke peeing on Lady Justice... Unbelievable

Exactly right - but even now the likes of Falk are trying to blame the US (and NATO) for finally doing anything about it. And he's supposed to be some sort of human rights expert!?! It's unbelievable.

So let's say that the US President shouldn't tell him to step down. Who gets to tell him to leave then? The Libyan people? Oh wait, they already did that....

Big Peace : 'Lawfare': Weaponizing Human Rights

Call me contrary, but I don't see it that way - as long as it's Western democracies (i.e. the same nations that have created international human rights law to begin with) that get to set the rules for due process - and make sure that those rules are applied to everyone impartially. But that does lead to the real point - who gets to make the rules?

While it does look a bit like jury nullification, it appears that the judge essentially instructed the jury to accept the defendants' excuse, which is a very different matter - it sounds like it could be reversible error due to faulty jury instruction if the parallel to US law holds true.

Big Hollywood : Stand Up Notes From Flyover Country: Fallen Heroes and Terrorists

Hasan was allowed to continue in the military despite grave questions out of a perverted desire for 'diversity.' In the wake of his despicable attack, I propose that the administration consider that the military's true diversity is represented by those who fell before his cowardly rampage.

Much as I enjoyed the original Independence Day, if this one was 'inspired' by the current administration, I have no interest in seeing it. Besides, Emmerich's last few movies have been at best marginally watchable.

Ah Chavez. Always good for a counterfactual rant. Unsurprisingly, the definition of 'genocide' is yet another word he doesn't seem to know, much like 'human rights,' 'open elections,' and 'democracy.'

Big Hollywood : What’s Right is Rights: Piracy is Theft

It's not surprising that left-wing pirates would like to excuse their actions. Some likely don't even realize that they're flouting the Constitution itself, while others would pride themselves on that very fact. Now, as anyone familiar with Constitutional history knows, The Federalist ensured the ratification of the Constitution. Alexander Hamilton, James Madison and John Jay went into exacting detail in arguing on behalf of various clauses. So what did they say about the law of copyright? In The Federalist #43, Madison said that "The utility of this power will scarcely be questioned. The copy-right of authors has been solemnly adjudged in Great Britain, to be a right at common law. The right to useful inventions, seems with equal reason to belong to the inventors. The public good fully coincides in both cases with the claims of individuals..." So my open question to the likes of Masnick and Tenenbaum is, do you need to be 'convinced' about the rest of the Constitution, or just the parts of which you're woefully ignorant?

Breitbart.com : Protest mounts against program at Toronto film fest about Israeli culture

"the city remains contested ground"? What an ignorant fool he is. What should be noted is that the PLO was formed before 1967, and initially it did focus on cities like Tel Aviv. After 1967, Arafat chose to focus on the 'occupied territories' as a PR move, but apparently he needn't have bothered. Fonda, Glover et al should be ashamed of their ignorance.
