Big Government : Nation’s Schools Should Follow Rhode Island Superintendent Gallo’s Example

Hey, I like teachers. There are some teachers that made a large impact on me, I don't begrudge them a decent compensation package for a second. That said, they'd better reign in these union hacks or people or going to do the lifting for them and there isn't going to BE a teachers union. Good for Gallo.

Big Government : Mount Vernon Statement: Conservatives Revive The Movement

BAH is right motion, BAH indeed, no question it's frustrating. Anon jumps in here with the ultimate flame bait, and people school up on him like piranha .. He actually asserts that anyone is proposing that slavery and womens suffrage be reversed as a part of a resurgence of constitutional government... A ludicrous statement on it's very face but he got his little troll thing on with great success, GREAT SUCCESS! It's depressing really, but then we always seem to turn things around, I have a little flicker of faith left in people, just a bit.

hahaha meat brain is railing against the innacuracy of the accusation that the big O used his trusty prompter on a sixth grade class. Hey dipshit, guess what, we know that. I used to try and push back against this kind of thing on behalf of Palin and no one gave a shit. So shut your big fat face, no one cares and no one is going to care. The story and the ilne of rhetoric is set, it's not going to change, and who wouldn't find it credible with this guy anyway? It's sticking and you can't stop it, give up, work another angle already. Lest we have the admins change your name to Don Quixote.

I don't know how it is you think your making your point, Obama can't take credit for it and neither can your tyrant dems in congress so frankly your simply entirely off your rocker here.
We have a bill on deck right now in the state of Alaska to do exactly that. Anyone on the doll must submit to a urinalysis exam and you could lose your benefits if you prove out to be a doper while you take money off the state. Not an entirely bad idea, I wonder what practical application will bring.....less people on the doll maybe? I don't see going as far as a hair sample, you want to see their current activity, not things they did years ago. That part is a little draconian if you ask me.

I keep looking at this program in my state. A big part of this issue, and a matter I'm sure someone at BG will end up covering over the course of time, is that they are continuously moving the poverty line up, always. I qualify for food stamps in my state where I make quite a bit more than a living wage as a union hack would put it. The key? My kids. Since I have five kids I qualify for all this crap government graft. All my life I've busted my arse to feed kids, pay the mortgage, yada yada, you know the drill. I buy my food with DOLLARS, this seems to shock people I know, even people with no kids. They don't understand how I can do that. They ask why I wouldn't get food stamps if I qualify? WHY? I don't want them, that's all. I don't want them to buy my food. It's the difference between freedom and it's counterfeit. As long as I stay off the doll, no one can tell me what items are approved for purchase, no one gets to ask me for income statements, or bug me for any info, or corral me into any other programs for that matter. This shocks people, they think I'm a fool, which is sad because the fact that they can't understand the principle that is at stake makes them the fools. They cry poverty to a bureaucrat and the next thing you know CPS is doing a welfare check on their kids. THEN they howl!!! HOW DARE THEY!?! It's just sad, that's all. I don't know what to do about it.

Big Journalism : Taliban Rape Tapes: A ‘Muslim Abu Ghraib’

Vid isn't working, link or no link, and I find that to be a tremendous relief. I don't need convincing, there are plenty of anecdotal incidents that speak to the barbarism involved with poverty and ignorance and religious fervor. The story make me ill, I'm glad your putting it out there for people. Stand firm, stay on the path, because sooner or later someone is going to hold this type of reporting against you. Anyone who would object, wills say anything at all to discredit this sort of story. Please stay on the path.

Wow mjolner. You know you don't really hear a whole lot out of NM. I wonder what it would take to turn other states onto some of the notions in our system. People have to get involved though, and I have a hard time putting faith in people sometimes. Our system was mostly codified at statehood and has withstood some pretty decent protracted sieges. As it stands now the only way they can plunder either the earnings or the corpus of the fund is to cash large portions of it out to the public which would create incredible economic havoc. We have significant declines however, we still feel economic hardship eventually despite the insular nature of the place. Oil won't carry us forever and it's not for a lack of it either, but for having large reserves locked away by feds and the courts. We'll need to be spreading that money out and preparing for some major shifts.
