Absolutely no US media coverage on this and it happened last week. I kind of see the media's point, two Japanese nationals just Roman around Italy with some pocket change equal to the darn near the same amount Russia owns in US Treasury bonds is not news worthy.

Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : 5/20/09: New Bill Allows Weapons In National Parks

I think Mr. Helmke could use a firearms safety course. One should not stare down any loaded weapon. Personally the AK is a little heavy to hump around for my tastes an AR-15 though for me is quite manageable. What I find interesting is that I do not bring a firearm with me because I am worried about wild animals, always been the the two legged critters that have worried me.

forgot to add dark hair and dark skin. Timothy James McVeigh, Theodore Kaczynski, are just two that popped into mind, wait they didn't have anything to do with aviation. how about http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,132515,00.htm... the two Chechen women in September 2004

Correct me if I am wrong. The issue you are trying to discuss is, is it okay to use "torture"/enhanced interrogation techniques (EIT) to gain intel from the bad guys? Is it wrong to do so? What challenges and opportunities does it present from an ethical stand point? Flipping the coin to the darker side. Slitting peoples throats, attacking civilians, causing more civilians and first responders to be burned to death, IEDs, VBIEDs, etc. I have a different view/interpretation of what is defined as torture. Current techniques employed do not fit into my definition. The end goal needs to be clarified as to exactly what the intention is. It requires vigilance and determination so that the goal is not lost. The trick to it is the law of the land must be observed. It is my opinion that laws in question may not have the jurisdiction the public perceives to be applicable. The distinctions used in the classification of those subjected to EIT directly impacts the applicability of the law. If the classification is changed, so do the rules.

Just to work in the my field I am subject to the same type of random testing. So I am for it, if I can go through this process to get and keep my job, why shouldn't others who are receiving benefits with tax dollar monies? Perhaps this concept could be extended to all the financial bail out recipients.

Wow 10 whole posts and you are frustrated. Admittedly, I did not peruse all the threads you started or responded to. From your post stream you don't have a lot of points or merits to any of your responses. With that said, let me tell you what I am hearing you say. I don't count because you don't like my ideas? Hmm, free speech. I am slowing progress down because I choose to contact my elected official and let them know where I stand on issues? As is my right. Or is it that what I say goes against what the politicians say? Free speech again. Or is it because I am not scared to disagree with the politicians? After all what is government with out the public's interests? Possible answer is tyranny. I disagree with the way things are being done because of that nasty old piece of paper known as the Constitution. Sorry you cannot have it both ways, the Constitution will be followed, pesky old oath I took and all of that. Why are you so scared of how others think? Are you a racist, bigot, elitist? You want to be educated by your own admission but you refuse to see others points of view and automatically think you are right, they/we are wrong. Your post is a text book example of how to create a division of us/them. A trick I use is to write what I think, not what others want to hear, not what is popular, not what is towing the party line.

I had to re-read the article again as I was in dismay over the implication that the only reason the taxes were checked in the first place was she hired an accountant to "scrub" her taxes in preparation for confirmation hearings. This absolutely disgusts me. It puts quite a hamper on the whole trust of our top leaders, quite frankly it is just another nail in the collective's coffin. First she should not receive a confirmation, second she should resign her governorship, third her husband should resign his as a federal magistrate. As public servants of high ranks they embarrass not only themselves, but the offices/agencies they represent and the public they serve and have effectively eroded their public trust positions that they hold. No excuses, no exceptions. Leader's don't just lead by example they are the example, for this to be over looked and glossed as a non issue is unacceptable.

Well after reading my response, I'm puzzled. It doesn't imply that I a I am going to take the law into my own hands. Actually there are four talking points and you picked one of them. For sake of the point you are trying to make, what I am hearing you say is, if a criminal act is being committed I have no right to defend my self. Correct? Well I certainly will take that under advisement. The very nature of criminal acts is to deny or deprive someone (victim) of their legal rights. What you are implying in your response is that the criminal has more rights than a victim. I do not see how someone committing a criminal act would enjoy the same level of protections or more than a victim. Wouldn't that elevate the criminals rights above the victims? If you think it through you will find a tremendous societal impact that would create classicism where one group has more advantage than the other. Think about it, how would that deter crime and protect the rights of law abiding citizens? That's right it wouldn't.

Because I'm passionate about our Constitution. I believe whole heartily in our country and what the freedoms our Constitution gives us. For me lawful ownership of legal firearms is just as important as free speech and freedom of religion. If we want the rights that our Constitution gives us we cannot pick and choose from the list, it is an all or nothing when it comes to freedoms. Where you live your response time for local police may be minutes, for me depending on where I am it could be 45-60 minutes to hours to days. If a wild animal is going after live stock should it be ignored or killed? That live stock is an investment and should be protected as such.

Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : SPEAKER PELOSI IS ABOUT TO INTRODUCE GOVERNMENT RUN HEALTH CARE

I have seen a lot of discussion on this topic in this thread. Lots good ideas. Reality is this, we are trying to fix something that is being put forward that is already broken. Two big issues are the reconciliation method being attempted. We really need to stop this effort on the politicians part, second, not many of us hear think this health care program being proposed is a good idea to begin with. So my question to all is what have YOU done to stop the reconciliation method being used? Have you let your reps know? Have you made it clear to them that you as a constituent do not support reconciliation method or the health care program? as a whole we can fight this. Quite debating what is broken and tell them to stop the madness, they do work for us as I recall.

Thank you for the encouragement and support. If our fellow members would realize if we all did this we will have an impact. The first step would be to get them to back off the reconciliation method. Making the final goal of stopping this travesty easier as it could not be fast tracked and jammed down our throats. Many folks don't realize the impact of delaying type actions and the value it would bring to us. First, it would cause a loss of initiative and momentum. It would show that we can make a change. It would allow opportunity for debate on this issue. Most importantly it would allow us time to to oppose this enforce using logic, reasoning, and our unified voices. Sadly I do not think many have courage to try and stop this. And in that case the sheep deserve what the wolf gives them.
