affecting would have been a better choice, but one can use effecting too. Effect can be used as a verb that essentially means "to bring about," or "to accomplish." For example, you could say, "Aardvark hoped to effect change within the burrow." Breitbart was great at effecting change in politics. You libs really are arses when you find a need to correct grammar and spelling. do you know how many times I could have corrected libs but didn't waste my time?

IMO, Breitbart never wanted to run for office. He enjoyed effecting politics from the outside where you didn't have to watch everything you did and said. And boy was he good at this. He will be missed.

I am a huge fiscal conservative that does not vote on social issues. That being said, having Santorum as the GOP candidate saps all my excitability about the election out of my system. Here in the midwest, there are a lot of fiscal conservatives who are socially liberal. Santorum will bring about 4 more years of Obama and we will have the social right to thank for it. I can barely get myself to vote for someone so far rght out of the mainstream on social issues.
