I too was involved in search and rescue for many years. Over time I became a bit jaded as I found the vast majority of "victims" met the tragedy as a result of there own stupidity. Hiking up a mountain with a winter storm forecast, REALLY STUPID!! Fishing - OK Fishing in small overloaded boat in heavy current with no life jacket - stupid.
