Fuck me, I just almost got scammed. I’m so mad. They were almost convincing but luckily Mr. CB was able to separately call the sheriff’s office and confirm that it was a scam. I couldn’t call myself because they said they had to keep me on the line. Sneaky. I’m so pissed off at them for wasting my time - I was actually in the car (which I had to wrangle all the kids into!!) on my way to the police department to do a “signature analysis” when Mr. CB actually saw my texts and was able to call. Fuck these awful people.

We have a steroid inhaler that we started using in the spring when his allergies were bad (that prompted our first ER visit), but his allergist said we could wean off it as things calmed down. He was fine all summer until a couple nights ago. We had another dose of an oral steroid that he got today that should take him through the next couple days.

Good! Back at school. We’re on albuterol every 4 hours so I had to stop by school to give him another does but he seemed fine. Just gotta stay on top of the meds so he doesn’t slide back again.

Poor #2. Currently in the ER getting a nebulizer treatment and some steroids for his allergies/asthma. He just couldn’t stop coughing even with all of the medicine we gave him at home so here we are. Luckily the pediatric ER is great so hopefully we’ll be all done in the next hour.

Good! #2 was home sick on Wednesday with like a micro stomach bug. Threw up once in the night but was fine by morning. But I kept him home just to be safe. Now Munchkin seems like she’s getting a cold. #3 has a week and a half until he starts at his new preschool.

Munchkin and #2 started 3rd grade and 1st grade today, respectively. This morning they came downstairs and started playing school with their stuffies, so I think they were ready! By all reports, they had pretty good days.

Number one, some actual straight answers. Two, actions to make communication better. We’re often hearing about staffing changes from other parents or our kids instead of from admin. And 3, more parental involvement in a room parent and/or PTA way.

So much drama at #3's preschool. We've been there since 2021 and there have been a bunch of staffing turnovers, a bit more than normal for early childhood, but there have also been folks who have been there for years and years. Well yesterday 2 teachers were let go who have been there 13 and 22 years respectively. Admin says they resigned, but parents talked to them and they said they were forced to resign. Now there's a whole hullabaloo and we're drafting a letter from the parents to request a school-wide town hall next week. Meanwhile, I'm also looking at other preschools for #3. It's a real shame because the program could be amazing - they focus/ed on tons of outdoor time and social-emotional development.

Amazing! I just planted strawberries this year because we are going through about 6lbs/week from Costco. I don’t think they’ll produce this year but they’ve spread like crazy! Hopefully next year we’ll get tones.

Ok, the experience was a mixed bag, mostly because of my kids and the heat. I spent the first 40 minutes of the game wandering around with #2 because he was overstimulated and overheated. Then the next 20 min negotiating and making a plan with Mr. CB. Managed to convince Munchkin to stay a little longer with me while Mr. CB took the boys home. Bought merch, then stopped at a diner across the street from the stadium because it had been too hot to eat anything and Munchkin was super hungry. Overall, the parts I was able to watch were awesome and next time I will hire a babysitter 😂
