That's a relief. Robbie was the one lad I thought might go after Kenny leaving-the best midfielder in the league by far-does all the mopping up and keeps things running with minimum fuss.

Yeah, losing Stephen is a huge blow to the club-he turned the club and the town around.
Mick McCarthy manages Ireland for 2 years, get them to the European championships and then sails off into the sunset into a much better paying English Premier League job. I am very surprised that nobody else see this plan. If he doesn't do well with Ireland, he gets €2.4mm and the sack. It's a win-win situation for Mick.
And why should Stephen Kenny got get the same renumeration in 2020?

I'm torn between wanting Stephen to get a shot at the Ireland job, and also wanting him to continue his excellent work with Dundalk--people outside of Dundalk do not fully realise what he has done for the club and the town-he is irreplaceable.
