I'll mention, as an experienced MLP player, than many of the seemingly-expensive gem-priced ponies can be "won" through the Dance mini-game. I think the only ponies that cannot be earned through dancing are those that have to be won from the Balloon Pop stand.

I would have liked to see a shout-out to Rebecca Shoichet, who has been Twilight's singing voice since Season One. That she was chosen to play Sunset Shimmer, Twilight Sparkle's "player on the other side", was a stroke of genius.

The Pinkie Pie book is nice.

I'm not a huge fan of "Twilight Sparkle and the Crystal Heart Spell." To the discerning fan, it seems fairly obvious that this is an older story that was re-written; if you think about it, the story only makes sense if role of Princess Cadance was originally played by Princess Luna.

Her "novelization" of the Equestria Girls movie is alright, but she makes some odd choices in telling the story. (For example, why is Sunset Shimmer wielding a *golf club* in her final confrontation with Twilight? In the film, it was a sledgehammer, a reasonable threat to a stone monument. Is a golf club even an tiny threat to a statue?) Given the chance, in exchange for leaving out the musical numbers, I would have elaborated on the background a bit. (For example, I would have Twilight puzzle over the asymmetry of the MLP/EG universes. Why is there no analog of Twilight? Where is the analog of Sunset Shimmer? Is it possible, *gasp!*, that Sunset is Twilight's EG twin?!) For some reason, Berrow seems unwilling to do this. I assume she's under some constraints, since she's writing the "official" version of the story, but I would have liked to see more genuine insight and invention.

I actually wrote a story about this, a long time ago: Short Cakes (http://www.fimfiction.net/story/25821/short-cakes). Rubber Pullet expresses Pumpkin Cake's love of Pinkie, her brother and her parents. Is Rubber Pullet at "key?" Perhaps.
