Big Government : Hate Crimes Ploy Undermines Free Speech

I'll tell you, never. It is human nature. The nation must be vigilant to never allow certain groups to obtain favor, prosperity, or advancement based on the color of one's skin or who one sleeps with.

Big Government : Hate Crimes Ploy Undermines Free Speech

Forget about free speech for a moment, (I'm sure they'd love that) and talk about equal protection under the law. The term "all men are created equal" was especially meant to apply to the law. This is blasphemous to the constitution to provide more "protection under the law" to blacks, hispanics, and now gays, than whites. If "equality" is the goal of civil rights leaders and the homosexual lobby, how does one justify this? One who is intellectually honest with one's self cannot. Unfortunately, it is becoming increasingly apparent that "equality" is not the goal. The goal is favortism. This is the same reason that black leaders are so resistant to changes in affirmitive action laws. How far will this go? I hate to sound cynical here, but will this be allowed to progress to the point where whites are relegated to a persecuted minority? The excuse being that it's payback for slavery? At what point will the insatiable appetite for power be satisfied?

Big Government : Tuesday Open Thread

On a sunny summer day, at a beachfront bar in St. Augustine, Florida, I got a glimpse of what Margaret Thatcher meant to England. I, destined to deploy to Iraq with the army in months, an older gentleman who was a door gunner in a HUEY in Vietnam, and a man in between who was a Royal Marine who served in the Faulklands, passed the time over a beer. They offered their advice to me, and wished me well. When the talk turned to politics, we all reminisced about Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher. The Royal Marine said in his mellow English accent, "She put the Great in Great Britain, my friend." Enough said.

Big Government : Obama and the Nobel: Right Man, Wrong Prize

Eleven days into his presidency he gets nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize? What in the hell did he do to deserve that one? I guess just being the messiah was enough. He and Jimmy Carter belong together. Let's just hope he's not as vocal as an ex-one term president as Carter. I really don't know if I could stand it.

He did give the go ahead to kill the Somali pirates. Though it seems like common sense to those of us who possess that quality, Jimmy Carter would have probably gone the appeasement route leading to the imprisonment and ultimate murder of the captain.

That's right boys, go ahead and send 11-18 billion dollars to poor countries and see what they do with it. Don't be surprised when it turns out like the "oil for food" program. Instead of forests of trees, you'll get warehouses full of AK-47's and RPG's, maybe even some nuclear material if they're lucky! Poor countries are poor for a reason. If their poor because of oppresive government (no pun intended) the money will go to make the rulers more powerful. If it is because of bad resource management, well, you figure it out.

Big Government : Inadequate Record-Keeping Cost Acorn Housing $130K

Question: Is ACORN simply a microcosm for our government as a whole? Both organizations have one goal: Power. Both are designed to have the best interests of the American people in mind, but continually do nothing but serve their own interests. Unfortunately, both are now corrupt institutions. They both claim to have no ulterior motives, but to any functional person, their motives are all too obvious. While claiming to represent the American citizen, both of these institutions are only interested in what they can swindle out of them.

Big Government : WorldNetDaily: Cambridge Cancels Michael Savage Debate

It is obvious that elements within Gordon Brown's government didn't want Savage to cite their internal emails about using Savage to provide balance in their list of individuals banned from Great Britain. Not to mention the fact that he would totally blow their ideology out of the water. I hate this for anyone who is interested in honest debate. Who better to represent the opposition to a debate on political correctness? Michael Savage would have had a field day.

Big Government : Bailout May Be Helping to Generate Up to Half of Bank's Profits

So, we see why many banks were so eager to go along with this. By simply promising to take the taxpayers money, they would recieve lower interest rates on their borrowed capital. Well, I hope that the 0.78 percentage rate savings was worth their souls. Also, this unlevel playing field would ensure that the banks that the government had control over would continue to be the largest and most influential institutions in the country. By proxy, the government gets more control through control of the largest banks. I'll be damned.
