From a pure marketing term, which covers Packaging, price, product and promotion and all the rest of them, I am still to find a blog that does not have any marketing at all.

You may not have paid marketing, but if you 'pretty up' your shop window, that is marketing, (packaging) if you allow comments and interaction and have a facebook page and twitter account connected to your blog, that is marketing, let's call it distribution channels shall we.

You may not ever mention a brand, you may be the ABC when it comes to blogging - guess what - that is your advertising angle anyway, that is your positioning.

If you write really well and you discuss where you write, that is selling something, your product is your writing.

When it comes to unfollowing blogs, I just can't work out how to get them out of my reader! People unfollow me on my blog or facebook all the time, I haven't noticed it with giveaways, but certainly when I talk about 'mummy' issues.

Every single blog I have seen has an angle, a reason they want people to follow them, to read them, otherwise they would most likely be a private blog, so they can be judgey all they want, but be careful of stones and glasshouses.

I was just thinking of putting nuffnang on my blog. I did for one week last year and wasn't impressed so decided to wait a year and reconsider. I was just clicking over there the other day thinking will I or wont I. Then you show me this and I am not that keen to be a nuffnanger again. Blog decisions are never easy!

Dear Ms Nut, It would seem that one has come across the terrible disease that happens to us all, blogger burnout. A big blog takes hours of work, to begin with it is so fun that you don't care, but then you want to be a great blogger and visit all those that comment on your blog, and run the best facebook page, and understand the backend and consider different commenting systems and then there is checking the stats and where your readers come from, and on top of that is the blog content, twitter and stumble upon, through in some Klout and some pinterest and maybe some instragram and guess what, you are stuffed!!!

Take a break.

Blogs are not real. It will be here when you are free to come back and believe me it will not need all of your time and attention. It will cope with whatever you are able to give it. If that is a post a week or a fortnight, than that will be just dandy.

Set yourself strict time frames for your blog, get back to enjoying the writing side of things. It will all come good.

Oh the voting begging. Really I don't like it. I don't vote for anyone anymore, after all, I read them all, like them all. Unless it is a unique award for something they have done that is truly award winning.
