KOMO - Seattle, WA : Preview: Investigation finds more child deaths, DSHS facing possible penalties | Local & Regional |

It sure would be nice if the corporate media would scrutinize the military's wasteful spending, and all the people that get killed during training, or bungled training exercises, repairing weapons, planes, etc. as they do DSHS. DSHS budget it nothing compared to the military budget.

KOMO - Seattle, WA : Lawmakers consider nationwide \'Blue Alert\' bill | Local & Regional | Seattle News, Weather, Sports

Not needed. Some company must be pushing this, and the Republicans. Some company must stand to make big bucks off of this. Republicans want to use this as a distraction from the real problems we face: overpopulation; dependence on fossil fuels; high unemployment and underemployment; a tax system that is raping the middle class, working class; capitalism that is corrupt, and out of control. I get so sick of Republicans saying government is too big, but then turn around, and want to use it to tell homosexuals they can't get married; telling women they don't have the right to control their body and their health; and wasting trillions of dollars on wars. Sad to watch Republicans slowly destroy this country. Republicans are so corrupt morally and intellectually.

KOMO - Seattle, WA : Mayors urge online escort service to check ages | Local & Regional | Seattle News, Weather, Sports,

The Catholics want you to think that all these escort ads are from under aged women or men. When in reality very few are. The Catholics are lying because they don't approve of adult entertainment, or adults having sex with other adults for money. They want to force their religion on everyone, and one of the ways they do it is by lying. The Catholics should be busy working on purging their churches of pedophile priests.

"The school couldn't reveal the exact punishment for each student, but they included community service, fines, suspensions and writing research papers about forgery." The school could reveal what punishment students got. How nice of the reporter to lie for the school. This just shows me that Catholics use their religion when it is convenient. They don't even believe their own religion. Most Catholics put being cool above God. What hypocrites.

I am so glad I live in Washington State. Glad we are focusing on trying to solving the real problems we face as a society. Clearly overpopulation is at the root of many of the problems we face today. We definitely don't want to have policies that will make this problem worse by making it more difficult for women to control their body, their reproductive system, their health.

KOMO - Seattle, WA : Senator claims threat to S.C. Boeing plant isn\'t serious | Seattle News, Weather, Sports, Breaking

Yoyoyou: very well said. You are exactly right. We gave Boeing billions of dollars in tax breaks at the beginning of the last decade, and they still moved their corporate HQ to Chicago, and plan on opening a new commercial airplane plant in S.C. I am sick of corporations and the rich hording trillions of dollars that they would never have if it wasn't for the masses work, and for the masses consumption, and for the masses taxes. Boeing used to have some smart people running it, but the last seven years they have hired some real idiots at the top, and the proof is the 777 is three years behind schedule. That is what Boeing gets for outsourcing for cheap labor and cheap parts.

"Haley says she won't allow the NLRB to bully businesses in South Carolina."...that is hilarious...the pot calling the kettle black. We all know why Boeing is opening a new plant in S.C. because they will be able to pay the workers there less. They will be able to abuse workers. They will be able to take profits that should go to the workers, and horde them at the top. Sad to watch more and more jobs either go abroad for cheap labor, or people being forced to work for less and less. It is a race to the bottom. Washington State gave billions in tax breaks to Boeing in the early part of the last decade, and they still shafted us by moving their head quarters to Chicago, and opening up a new plant in S.C. Boeing pollutes a ton, so at least the new plant won't be polluting up here.

KOMO - Seattle, WA :

Hmm, interesting how the article shielded Amazon.com from the hard ball question (were your servers attacked?) by not asking it. It was left vague by saying it was a technical problem. Amazon.com thinks it can do whatever it wants, including suppressing free speech, and thinks billionaires shouldn't have to pay any taxes, or very little. I have also heard about some of their hiring practices, and they stink. Some very nasty, conservative people, at the top of Amazon.com, are running it, and they deserve to be attacked because they are so anti-American, anti-US Constitution principles. They need to be held accountable, if the USA government won't hold them accountable, for anti-competitive, and human rights violations.

KOMO - Seattle, WA : State Senate leaders unveil liquor privatization bill | Seattle News, Weather, Sports, Breaking News

Making alcohol, hard liquor distributed in more locations would make it easier to abuse. The abuse of alcohol costs society a lot in terms of lives and money. Not only would privatizing hard liquor distribution shift the profits from the state to corporations, the corporations would not have to pay for the costs to society when people abuse alcohol or drive drunk. It is a lose lose for tax payers because not only do they lose revenue from the distribution and sale of liquor, then the government has an increase in alcohol abuse which costs government more money to clean up. I think the voters are smart on this one: don't privatize the distribution and sale of hard liquor, it will only lead to more budget problems for this state, which leads to less jobs, less services that make the quality of life better for everyone in this state.

If the state calls heterosexual unions marriage, it should be called marriage for homosexual unions. Same-sex marriage should have all the same rights heterosexual unions have, and that includes the tax benefits of being married. Marriage is a human institution, and therefore, a human right. Religion does not have a monopoly on the word marriage. If they don't want to marry homosexuals, that is their right, but they don't have the right to tell the state who they can and can't marry. They don't have the right to force their religious beliefs on other human beings, and the federal and state constitutions make that law.

KOMO - Seattle, WA : New liquor privatization initiative filed in Wash. | Seattle News, Weather, Sports, Breaking News |

If you increase the logistics of selling hard liquior to tens of thousands more places, it will cost far more to regulate it, and it make it easier to abuse it. It is simple logic. Why do you think McDonald's, Starbuck's tries to be on every corner: because it makes it easier to consume, more convenient, and thereby increases consumption, which increase sales, which increase profits. Grocery stores, quick marts, etc are on every corner, just about. McDonald's, even Pepsi and Coke have employed a logistics marketing strategy as a way to increase profits, luckily pop doesn't impair you ability to drive if abused. It works too, because McDonald's and Starbuck's are not going out of business any time soon, and the obesity rate isn't going down either. This is just a push by businesses to increase their profits, while at the same causing more problems for society it doesn't have to pay to clean up, the taxpayers end up having to clean it up.

Live Action Blog - Human Rights, Abortion, and Life : New Jersey AG Asks the Division of Criminal Justice to Investigate Whether the Manager Broke Any Law

Yep, lets waste resources, and time on making it harder for women to control their body, their health. The more time and resources we spend on this matter, the less time and money we have for teachers, police officers, jobs to rebuild our infrastructure, health care, regulation of corporations that will abuse humans, and the environment if they aren't penalized for it, create green economy jobs. Not only spending time on abortion takes money away from the real problems, it also, if succeeds, will cause more unwanted preganacies, which leads to faster population growth, which is stongly correlated with high poverty, high unemployment, high crime, and many other negative consquences. The real problems are finding cheap, clean, ubundant energy to run our economy, and to allow it to keep growing, creating good paying jobs since so many have been lost to cheap labor abroad and automation the last 30 years, and keeping health care and higher edcuation affordable, and making sure we hire more teachers, pay them a good salary, and keep class room sizes smaller.

Removing this from the watefront will do wonder$$ for tourism and business downtown.
