This is simply hilarious. For one thing, it shows the general stupidity of American politicians. Why don't they simply take the stance that the Muslims use so well? "These are the acts of extremists who don't represent us. America preaches peace and tolerance. To hold the actions of a few extremists against all Americans would be bigotry." And likewise, this shows the general stupidity of Muslims. They insist that we cannot hold them responsible for what Bin Laden, Wahhabists, and the Taliban do, but then they turn right around and threaten ALL AMERICANS with death on the basis of this one fellow. And the Muslim doing the threatening isn't some radical Muslim, but a mainstream Muslim running for high political office. Woops, this fellow just blew everybody else's cover. Translation: we know where their psychic nads are now; now we know where we have to squeeze to bring these backstabbing weasels to the table.

Well, yes, of course it is! Do you have a problem with realizing that? When I decide someone is worthy of my help and I give them time, goods, or money, that's charity. It's a social function. It's VOLUNTARY. When a government agent sticks a gun to my head and demands I pay some amount in taxes to someone THEY think is worthy of my help (and as it turns out, they're wrong MUCH more often than I am), that's slavery. It's a governmental function. It's extracted by force. And it takes money out of my pocket that I could have voluntarily used to help someone MORE worthy.

For example, insisting you need to do further research to salvage a losing claim, instead of following the link provided and noticing that "Monticello researchers and respected Jefferson scholars" "have never found such a statement in Jefferson's writings," which is a pretty big red flag that you are unlikely to succeed where they have failed. (If you had followed the link, you would also have learned how you misquoted the other half of the statement as well.) If you want to earn status as a debater, you have to leave the work of punching holes in your own credibility entirely to the other party.
