kotowari 「理」 : What Makes Me Happy In RPGs

Personally, my favorite aspect of RPGs is the leveling up, and not just leveling up, but seeing my stats go up. It always gives me a sense of progress and accomplishments. I love when this feature is implemented into other videogame genres such as puzzle games and action games.

kotowari 「理」 : NIS's The Witch and 100 Calvarymen Website Launches

I really hope NIS can pull themselves together. They've been releasing way too many games, like 3-4 every 2ish months. I tend to buy a majority of NIS games, but this is becoming ridiculous. Hopes that they find their limit as well.

kotowari 「理」 : What Junk In Parasite Eve Taught Me About My RPG Compulsions

Wow, I was having a conversation like this with my brother earlier today. We were talking about how games always give you these really good items (like the mega-elixar) and how we never use it. I always save them for when I need it, but find myself never needing to use them. I guess this type of hoarding shows how I am afraid to take the easy way using limited (but successful) means, but instead take the more casual path. I have the chance to use the mega ether or mega elixar, but always back away and use a mega potion or some other form. Gaming just became a gateway to personal understanding haha.

kotowari 「理」 : Taking A Generational Step Back: Now Playing Parasite Eve

Just a thought, but I think the reason we have lost immersion lately is the acceptance of videogames nowadays. Before a videogame helped those who were not inclined in other areas; a place to escape, such as the way books or art or music does. I believe this feeling allowed many of us to become emotionally attached to the characters, settings, and stories. Now that games are more accepted in modern day, we kind of lose the imaginations (possibly due to the developers trying to make games pleasing to everyone as well) we once held with older games.

As many have said: Happy 3 year Anniversary. You're almost out of your Toddler stages! Also, I took a listen to Black Materia the other day, and was really impressed. Not being a rap/hip hop fan, I came in thinking "What is this going to sound like?" But ended up enjoying it a lot. Hopefully I can win myself a copy, but even if I don't, I will probably be buying this.

My list is very similar to yours, except I'd probably add Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker in there, seeing as it made me really see how the PSP could be used fully. Being one of the few PSP fans among my friends, it helped me put up an argument on how the PSP isn't bad.

kotowari 「理」 : E3 2010 Catch-up: Metal Gear and Versus

For some reason the trailer made Rising seem way to easy. Being able to go slow motion and chop enemy to bits. Lets hope the harder difficulties allow some sort of challenge. MGS3 3DS looks pretty sweet. The graphics looks great, but I hope the controls turn out just as good. Versus looks really interesting, and free world seems pretty awesome, but random and spotted encounters seems kinda funky if you ask me.

I like how absurd the responses were when you asked about The Fight. Basically they're like "I don't care if our game is good, as long as it works... cut us a break" I can't wait to hear what you think of Trinity Universe.
I find it weird that the nerd stereotype is kids with glasses (like myself) but there are still the glasses on glasses problem. Sure everything is in 3d, but if I can't actually see the game what use is it? You'd think they would make clip-ons of some sort by now... oh well.
