Big Government : Terrorist Fears Will Force Obama to Send Troops to the Border

This issue is larger than the Presidency. Once there is a military presence on the border, the soldiers will bring in the type of equipment and listening devices to create a real security umbrella. This will be a very painful move for the Administration. Their base will go nuts, but it is the only way to create cover for the entire Democratic Party if there is a terrorist incident coming from Mexico.

The Obama Administration saw a porous border as a strategy to build their base. I agree the Obama has been the most lax at border security, which of course leads to lawlessness. To make a u-turn and bring a military level of security will make the Administration the most forceful in history.

You are on point with these comments. President Obama moving to direct soldiers to man the border will be a huge issue for his political base. I have already received calls from Minute Men who are ecstatic that something is starting to happen to secure the border.

I am working on a whole series of pieces about the military's role in the post Iraq and Afghanistan world. Since the advent of the F-15, America is 274 to zero in kills of enemy fighters. Essentially, America controls all land, sky and sea "space". Consequently, our enemies are going to try to get in close where they can trade loss of life at one to one. I do not believe Obama wants to make this deployment. His base is going to go "agro". My point is that the deployment is a survival issue for the Democrats.

My point is that he has "endangered" the future of the Democratic Party. There is nothing like politicians doing whatever they need to do to survive. Putting troops on the border is very tricky. There are substantial risks of developing a police state. But not putting troops on the border as Iran ratchets up their confrontation with America risks huge loss of life in the homeland. If the troops are deployed, this will be very controversial with Obama's base.

When all else fails, people turn to logic. This is another liberal President, like Carter, who thought it was "logical" that the whole world would come to love him. Seems strange and unusual people in new and interesting countries would like to kill him. Putting armed troops on the border is going to savage Obama's popularity and fund raising with his base.

Politics ain't beanbag is the Democrats favorite saying. The election of Scott Brown in Massachusetts saved this nation from a complete flip to a European social welfare state. Romney battle this type of thuggery and won. The Presidential election will be much meaner than the Rep Primary.

Fair comment. I haven't pick a horse in the race yet. But I am impressed that Romney gets his teeth kicked in and get get up off the floor and battle back in the game. McCain was a nice fellow and Dole was an older nice fellow, but they had no capacity to battle vicious liberals. The long Republican campaign will make the candidate stronger.

Gingrich is a very dynamic fellow that is willing to take on lions and tigers and bears. Ya just don't know which Gingrich will show up. Rick Santorum has always talked right and voted left. I know which Santorum will show up.

All my friend in Pennsylvania cannot understand why conservatives support Rick Santorum. He was the entitlement queen of the Senate. Romney is not perfect, but he has actually run successful businesses and turned a disasterously featherbedded Olympic scam intot the most profitable Winter Olympics in history.

Big Government : Center for American Progress Took $453,250 From Natural Gas Billionaire T. Boone Pickens

I do care about how Pickens makes money, if his business model is using government to prevent competition. It will take America 5 years to achieve energy independence. The Obama Administration was all over the airways today trumpeting their support for natural gas and other energy supplies. But if you read my post last week, you will understand that folks like Pickens want America to do stupid things like alternative energy. In the last two years, natural gas prices have been cut in half, because huge new supply is available. Furthermore, wildcatters used to drill for oil and get gas as a bonus product. Now they drill for gas and get oil as the bonus. Pickens knows if he can restrict oil and gas deliveries his assets go up in value. Consequently, he invests heavily in liberal media to frustrate new oil and gas. This is exactly what goes on in the European Welfare state. The concept is closer to socialism than capitalism.

Boone Pickens is not looking for support, he is looking to kill his competition. I wrote a piece for Big Gov last week callled "Big Oil Wants to Kill the Keystone Xl Pipelie: http://biggovernment.com/cstreet/2012/02/17/big-o... I outlined how big oil hates cheap new supply and was quietly spending big bucks to get the Obama Administration to kil the pipeline. I got a tremendous amount of criticism that oil companies would never do anything to hurt supply. This article confirms my thesis.

Most "capitlists" are small family businesses that do not have the capacity or moral bankruptcy to participate in crony capitalism. I wrote in this publication an article last week titled, "Big Oil Wants to Kill the Keystone XL Pipeline": http://biggovernment.com/cstreet/2012/02/17/big-o... Big government is the largest customer and only big corporations can meet the insurance and regulatory requirements to get contracts from the government.
No, I meant Revolutionary War. The biggest British Army was under Lord Cornwallis in the Carolinas, because that is where the concentration of wealth was in the colonies. Cornwallis was defeated by Nathaniel Greene in 178 and he then withdrew to Yorktown for resupply. The French fleet cut-off the resupply and Cornwallis surrendered. With the loss of the South, the other great powers quickly turned against the British and they were forced to negotiate a peace treaty. Lincoln was behind in the polls in the election of 1864. The British and the French were considering moving to break the blockade. Such an event would have ended the Civil War with the Confederacy independent. Sherman had fought in the Seminole Indian War in Florida and was later stationed in Georgia and South Carolina. Sherman attacked wealth, instead of armies. His capture of Atlanta in the spring of 1864 turned the polls in favor of Lincoln. He attacked the Carolinas to destroy the center Confederate of wealth at that time. Sherman was so successful, the South has never recovered.

I beg to differ with you on the Japanese willingness to surrender in 1943. The Japanese started the war with the U.S. and UK in order to take the Dutch West Indies oil. In 1943, Japan imports of oil were increasing and they were building more tonnage of tankers than were being sunk. I have never seen anything that indictated the Japanese would stop the war and withdraw to the home islands.

Most people have no clue that the Revolutionary War was predominately fought in the Carolina, because that is where the money was. Sherman broke the Confederacy by destroying a massive amount of very valuable infrastructure.
