Because it's not cost-effective. They'll break things until it's so broken that the rate at which they make money is affected. Then and only then will they buckle down and fix it.

Ah, corporate work... I don't miss those days.

Ahem. I wrote specifically that "the comment you're replying to, and the one immediately preceding it made a statement that can be discussed on purely objective terms."

Which brings me to: "You can't deny that there isn't much simulation going on here," and "The MLP game has no economy, no infrastructure, and no constituencies. It would be like SimCity if SimCity was only about plopping down landmarks," respectively.

So yes, absolutely objective.

The game being schlock is somewhat more subjective. But, if you break the game down to its components, you'll it's little more than some cheaply made (literally, you can see the shortcuts they took, likely as a time- and cost- cutting measure) 3D models walking around with the same handful of animations coupled with constant nagging to buy fake money.

Schlock in my book, though not at all what I was getting at two comments up. I think the problem is that you identify with the game too strongly, such that an attack on the game is perceived as an attack on you.

Did I?

Break down my statement logically (like, logic with a capital L, not colloquial logic).

That mild insult was intended, to illustrate an extreme point. I was unintentionally too soft on the other end of the spectrum; were do you draw the line between a hater and an overly vitriolic critic, after all?

The overwhelming majority of my comments here are responses, firstly. Secondly, I'm not judging you.

Third, the comment you're replying to, and the one immediately preceding it made a statement that can be discussed on purely objective terms.

Does it pertain directly to the forum of discussion, is it acceptable according to the rules, and is the discussion forum the public itself? If not on all three counts, it's subject to removal, and such a removal is not censorship, with no ambiguity.

Reading this is opening my eyes a bit. I went into this fandom knowing full well what Hasbro is and what MLP is fundamentally about for them.

It hadn't occurred to be that perhaps some portion of bronies might not see it that way. I mean, hey, I anticipated the cease & desist notice that Fighting is Magic received, and I was a bit shocked when it turned out to be such a surprise.

Oh, come on. Most games I ever play anymore are causal games that quote/unquote "gamers" would scoff at entirely.

You can't deny that there isn't much simulation going on here. Though, a game that would put you in the shoes of Mayor Mare trying to run Ponyville would certainly be interesting, now that I think about it.

Likewise no. I never commented on what makes a fan or how to rate their quality.
