I want to read more of Ishiguro's works too. Thanks for letting me know about 'Remains of the Day'!
Hmm, I really like the way you put that, that they were each other's punishment. That makes a lot of sense!
Thanks for visiting! :) It had been floating around my story-radar as well, hope you will eventually get to read it as well!
I agree, I think she's a great storyteller! I can't wait to read more of her works.
I have to read The Princess Bride soon!
It's like that when we were kids eh? I experienced the same thing with movies and stuff. When I rewatch a movie as an adult, I'm like "OMG it was full of sexual innuendos .. but I didn't understand a single one when I was a kid!" hahaha.
Hi! Thanks for commenting! :) I didn't know there was a e-prequel, I will definitely check it out. Blanche de Castille was one tough mother-in-law in Four Sisters, All Queens, can't wait to revisit her character.
Are you talking to me or Shannon? O_O Because I did read the book (hence this review) and I didn't mention anything about the author once. I didn't even find out anything about the author until after I finished the book and wrote this post.
I can totally see how this book would help those "wandering" in life! I also saw on GR how the reviews seemed to be either 1 star or 5 stars, haha, I was hoping I'd give it a 5 since I'm always optimistic about a book before I read it, and while I did end up liking it, I guess it wasn't a true hit with me. I agree with your last statement, I think the difference between the people who give 1 star or 5 stars is that they have very different views of life.
