I have often wondered the same thing. Being a state employee, I wonder who do they send the ticket too, and who's gonna get reamed for it. You can prove the vehicle but not the driver...

This is the way I look at it. Maybe the police can stay off the traffic violations kick and focus on the crime in Cedar Rapids and clean up this city that has been in shambles ever since the flood. But yes with cameras and crime I tend to stay small town.

So you think it should have been persued to be called fair chace? Hunters can not afford to be ridaculed by other hunters. It's a legal choice to shoot or not. Keep your "hunter" comments quiet and we Sportsmen maybe able to continue hunting...

GazetteOnline.com : Snow may slow second shotgun deer season

Maybe the DNR should consider letting a hunter hunt any season he wants to. Let them have one buck tag and purchase doe tags for any other season they wish to hunt. Whats the difference If I shoot a buck first season and also have a doe tag and shoot it first or second season. Shotgun season only comes once a year. This would prolong our time in the field with freinds and family. Thats what most of us want!

The news reported that he jumped form the train. A train crew did report a body layinig near the tracks on Sat or Sunday evening. The conductor said near Watkins witch started the original search. Obviously the train conductor wasn't sure what town he was at. I am guessing John was knocked unconcious or is paralized is why he laid so close to traffic and the house for so long. If he just had the broken foot or leg, You would think he would wrok his tail off to crawl to the road or the house befroe laying there for four days. The reason a family member found him is because everyone else gave up the search. Just my .02 cents!!!

Beatin up? Did it strike anybody people jump these trains for transportation? I would before I walked nine miles. I'm guessing he jumped the train since there is construction east of Blairstown the train has been running slow. He got to Norway and it started to pickup speed and he realizes he is past town That explains why he was East of Norway his destination. He jumps for it and breaks his leg.

Seriously? Let me state that I am employed by the DOT. You (traveling public) bitch because of poor road conditions. You bitch because your inconveninced by construction to fix those poor road conditions. You bitch because we (DOT) aren't out soon enough during a snow storm. Do you think the DOT can afford cuts? I have a ton of work to do and not enough guys to do it. Due to "restructuring" in previous years. Less troopers and DNR means more trashy drivers on our roads and outdoorsman breaking laws in our public areas.
