IMMIGRANTS OVER 65: If the immigrant is over 65 they can apply for SSI and Medicaid and get more than my mom gets for Social Security, and she worked from 1944 till 2004, only getting $791 per month because she was born in 1924 and there is a "catch 22". It is interesting that the federal government provides a single refugee with a monthly allowance of $1,890.00 and each can also obtain an additional $580.00 in social assistance for a total of $2,470.00/month. This compares very well to a single pensioner who after contributing to the growth and development of America for 40 T O 50 years can only receive a monthly maximum of $1, 012.00 in old age pension and Guaranteed Income Supplement. Maybe our "pensioners" should apply as refugees!

I don't care what anyone says about it we all start out our lives in this country with the same playing field no matter what our status in life is and we make what we will of what God has given us. Some lay around and cry about how life has treated them and some of us get busy and learn how to work and earn a good life that no one has a right to without working for it. We also worked hard all our lives and paid for our home which I thank God is paid for since I am now alone and my car is paid for and I pay my own insurance on that car and for my home and my own taxes. No one helps me do this and I don't want them to.

I am for people working for what they get in life. My mom told me if you don't work for something you don't really need it anyway. My husband and I both worked hard all our lives and paid into SS and Medicare and now I am a widow on SS and I pay out of my check for My Medicare part B which you have to buy if you want secondary insurance which I also have to pay for monthly and prescription drug benifits which I also have to pay for monthly so if I can do this on a fixed income why can't people buy their own insurance. If you don't believe you pay for SS or Medicare just take a good look at your next pay stub and that is something we paid for our whole lives so it kind of bothers me when Medicare is lumped in with medicaid or state welfare as an entitlement. Sorry but it is not for it is something we have all paid our whole lives for.

What I don't get is why the middle class thinks they won't pay more taxes when if this cap and trade goes through the bills they will be paying will be a lot more tremendous than any tax that would be imposed and besides I am a Reaganist and believe lower taxes is the way to goin a recession. I don't even know what to call myself anymore. I am retired so I am definately not rich and not even up there with middle class america if there is still such a thing. This is all to get control over our Country and we as a country had better wake up quick to put a stop to it all.

It is right that our planet has it's own cycle and will do what it will no matter what we do. Cap and trade will only cost the american people tons of money and make everything we buy go up in price. I live on a fixed income and you can bet electric, gas and even water will go up because most water meters are now run by computers. I know people on social security right now that don't make as much money as they would have to pay for even one of these bills. The government wants to control and tax everything they can and even the poor people don't realize you don't get something for nothing without paying dearly one way or another. Also who is going to be able to pay for these new cars they are going to be making because by then the government will have already robbed us blind and we won't be able to afford to buy them. The government has just about put a whole industry out of business because of this global warming nonsense as it is and there will be more to follow. I may be old but I am not stupid and I don't want my grandchildren to have to foot the bill for this administrations stupidity.
