You would have to be high to support Jan Schakowsky for political office.

Big Government : In Bid to Boost Black Homeownership, Rick Santorum Fueled Housing Bubble That Led to Financial Crisi

Enough already. In the past week alone, I have gotten emails attacking me for being a Romney supporter, a Gingrich supporter, a Santorum supporter, and a Paul supporter. Let's be very clear about this: Come November, I will crawl over glass to DEFEAT Barack Obama with any of these candidates, but I'm not going to pretend that they are faultless and neither should you. We are conservatives, not cheerleaders.

Big Government : A History of Failed Brokered Conventions in 1924 and 1940

Chuck, good to hear from you. I kept my analysis confined to the modern presidency, which is to say post-1912 convention. You are right about Rutherford B. Hayes. A plausible candidate could also have been the election of Grover Cleveland, though that depends on your definition of "brokered."

Big Peace : One Lone Student Against Terror at Claremont McKenna

I have heard from students in his class that that's what he said. That's not "bull" excrement. Two different sources told me that who do not know each other. OK, so he criticized the Assad regime... mighty big of him. So why did a student of his ask, in all seriousness, at the talk, what Syria can do to promote world peace? Why did he refer to him as a friend? Could it be that he says one thing to you and another in Arabic? After all, he is a graduate of a Syrian college and, I believe, though I have only confirmed this with one source, that he was a boxer for Syria's government. I would also point out that he DOES NOT have a interdisciplinary degree. He has a Ph.D. in Arabic literature. His CV attests to this.

I want to answer this. That is entirely correct that Professor Frangieh is an admitted Christian. He does, however, support Islamist terrorist organizations. Hope that helps....

Claremont McKenna is not a public institution, but a private one. It is one of the top colleges in the country and per capita trains the most defense and state department officials of any liberal arts college. Please forward this story on to others. If you should feel inclined, follow the discussion at Claremontconservative.com and if you are so inclined, please donate. I could use it to help offset the money I spent on the translations.

This is actually false. He says that, but he brings speakers to campus that are critical of Israel and the United States. He brings the Syrian ambassador to campus -- and instructs his class to serenade him with a recitation from the Koran. He told students that he would not discuss the Middle East because it is "very personal" to him, but do you want someone teaching a course on trends and movements in the Middle East who doesn't have a PhD in Middle East history and for whom an academic subject is personal?
