As an aside, I was listening to a bit on NPR about the Tesla Roadster--0 - 60 in 3.9 seconds. Not bad for an electric car!
I am typically pretty good at math, but not a damn thing said here or in the twelve comments made makes a lick of sense to me. wake me when its over lol.
So if stevens is out who is now the senator with the most seniority?
It appears to me that this scenario is statistically favoring a slight Democratic pickup. What are the odds, and the historical precedents, for one party gaining in congress THREE times in a row?
OK thanks everyone. That is what I thought, that they were special elections, but I wanted to make sure.
I just have a quick question, why did two states vote for both of their senate seats this year (2008). Doesn't that skew the whole idea of a statewide race?
Pawlenty is a rather rational republican. I am torn between wanting Palin to take charge of the republican party and keep them from regaining power for another god only knows how long, and pawlenty taking charge and leading the GOP back towards the folds of reason and reality. The thing is, I know that know matter what, history shows that sooner or later power will swing back their way, and I would feel better knowing that when it does that we don't have to put up with the insanity of the far right.
I count 7 TL republicans and 9 TL republicans. Does that put us dems at a disadvantage because we have more open seats to defend? I don't know enough about gubernatorial
races to know.
Also, I hope to god Hawaii elects a democrat. I really don't like Lingle from what I have read about her.
I hope to god chris mathews doesn't run. I feel like we need people like him in powerful positions in the MSM more then we need them anywhere else.
IMO of course.
