The 'Ropolitans : Be prepared for a David Wright cold streak

This is bogus. That one major league player can be 'ruined' by 40-50 swings on an off day is ridiculous. If this were the case, no one would ever break out of slumps. He'll be fine this mini-homestand, because he's facing bad pitching on a mediocre team. That's the truth of it.

I'm sure some will say it's not enough, should've been there, whatever. But which will be more memorable? Having something Mets related at the ballpark, or remembering the day they put it there?

I tihnk their starting pitching is just unscouted actually. I think the Braves finish second. Although maybe not, since their bullpen is yankeeesque.

The inaugural patch i believe is different due to the deal with Citi. certian requirements to wear their patch, versus the Mets patch. the Mets patch is on the balls, etc. I have a shirt with it. I think all the away jerseys feature it too. It's still April. Pelfrey, Maine, and Perez have all shown that potential. sure, it's possible they'll never get there, but it's also possible by the time April ends, they'll have gotten in a a little consistency and worked out the kinks.
MetsBlog.com : Opinion: The Citi Field Criticism

How do you not get that these tickets _are_ reduced in price because they're outfield seats? at Shea section 36 cost the same as section 2. The only issue is that people bought things without seeing them. There are, and were, legitimate, awesome seats available for everyone at reasonable prices. In 2003 the cheapest ticket at Shea was $8. in 2009 at Citi? $11.

They don't. Citi Field is awesome. It's quickly becoming my favorite ballpark. I looked at those views yesterday. I took 350 pictures. There were a couple of spotty areas, but most everything was perfectly acceptable to me. For instance, there isn't a seat in the place that I'd prefer to be for a game less than on my couch at home. I think most of the people complaining are people that bought season tickets/plans without being at the park, and are experiencing buyer's remorse because they would've done something differently today.

MetsBlog.com : Note: Pelfrey wants to Start, Announcement Today

Why? If there's no indication it's going to hurt him, Pelfrey is probably going to give a better performance than Niese or Figgy.

Obviously. I think they've had tentative ideas and plans for stuff all along, and are just going to gradually do it, have ceremonies and special days. But we'll see. it's still early. I'm going to Citi for batting practice today, and going to wander around and take some pictures of these 'crappy sections' and whatnot. If anyone has a specific request, you can leave a comment on my blog and I'll see about taking a picture.

MetsBlog.com : Health: Pelfrey's Forearm, Now What?

I give no credibility to any commentators or reporters. They'll draw a correlation to whatever pitcher to happen to remember with similar issues and proclaim it the same way and it should be treated the same. Let the doctors look at it, figure out how he feels after a side session, take another MRI, figure out if it's likely to be make worse by pitching, and then go from there. I generally don't like DLing guys/skipping starts with every little bump and bruise.(Provided it's not causing them further problems) If we listened to the reports Santana would likely be making his first start of the season this weekend.

MetsBlog.com : Opinion: Day 1 in Citi Field

Whatever, more room for me. People are just experiencing buyers remorse because they bought something without looking at it first, so those season plan peoples that bought deep outfield seats are unhappy. Whatever. I like it, the Mets play there, i don't care what anyone else thinks.

20 feet still seems an exaggeration. I'm not saying you can see the wall, but you're in the worst/farthest section in the ballpark. But you can see what's going on in the infield/plate a hell of lot better than you could in the 30s in UR at Shea. That's my point, they traded off some visiblity for that closeness, but I haven't seen anything that looks extreme yet or that I'd be unhappy sitting in.

Yeah, he can't see the corner, but it's in farthest corner of the promenade. and large chunks is an exaggeration, lean forward, stand up with the action, etc.

20 feet is an exaggeration, and you're in the deep outfield. The alternative is to be another 50 feet from the action.

people are just being negative. They seem to have wanted the stadium designed exactly how _they_ think it should be. parking will take some getting used to I'm sure. There are a lot more partial obstructions than Shea. You may have to stand up or crane your head t see the foul territory in front of the dugout from certain spots, or you may not be able to see the outfield wall in some outfield seats. This was a trade off for being closer to the action. (The alternative being another 50+ feet away from seeing anything). I've been there twice and wandered around all over and have yet to find a view I was unhappy with.
