Kickette - Soccer/football gossip, hot players and the WAGs that love them : John Terry: Going Out With A Bang

I'm assuming it's a few ardent Terry-can-do-no-wrong fans who are voting us down. Either that or some FA execs decided to check out Kickette ;). Anyway, I don't hate John Terry, and I think it's quite sad that his national career had to end like this. I also don't think that he is truly a racist person. I think there's a culture, perpetuated by the FA and their nonexistent standards, that allows for one player to belittle another using race. And it's not just in sports. However, the FA is in charge of a sport, and if they keep claiming they're against racism in football they have to actually do something about it. And what people are apparently failing to realize is this wishy washy stance by the FA does a huge disservice to BOTH parties. Not only do they not get a chance to work through this and learn from each other, everyone watching this saga doesn't get the opportunity to learn by example. And this whole cycle of nonsense just starts all over again...

Kickette - Soccer/football gossip, hot players and the WAGs that love them : Neymar: Cross, Cover, Conflict

It's idiotic. To echo many, I'm not religious so it doesn't bug me that someone wanted to recreate the image, but it's how and why they did it, that bugs me. By the way, is he really singled out for diving all that much? I've honestly never heard much about it, although granted I don't live in Brazil. Anyway, this kid needs a new team of reps/people/whatever.

Totally agree. The fact that the FA seem to muck it up more is actually, in mine opinion, what allows players to get away with this kind of behavior. Have rules, have consequences for breaking them, enforce them across the board in a timely manner. It's not a hard formula, but it doesn't seem to be making it through their thick skulls.

That sounds like great parenting. Thats pretty much how I was raised. I grew up surrounded by peers who got gifts for pretty much breathing. Shockingly enough, they were some of the brattiest, most self-entitled people I've ever met.

If I had to pick based on outfit, VB. However, if I had to pick based on overall look, Nagore. Not a fan of the dress, but it's also not the worst. Her hair looks better than VB's (not a fan of that braid on her, not quite sure why but it doesn't seem to suit her or the dress), and she seems more... alert, for lack of a better term.

Kickette - Soccer/football gossip, hot players and the WAGs that love them : Sergio Ramos: Sleepy Sounds For A Special Person

Oh Sergio, you gigantic goober, you. I love that his twitter is littered with links to really random and hilariously goofy songs, and that you know without a doubt that he legitimately loves them. It's like his green pants, penchant for bizarre tattoos, and weird hair (the shorter hair is FINALLY starting to grow on me), without any of it he wouldn't be The Ramos. Here's hoping that, if it isn't a shout out to his love for Nando/Navas and all things cute that begin with N, its to a lady who fully appreciates all the pieces that make up The Ramos.

Kickette - Soccer/football gossip, hot players and the WAGs that love them : Career Drama: Cristiano Ronaldo Is Sad

Well, I give you a resounding thumbs up! The media is a tool for footballers and their clubs. If something isn't being handled behind closed doors the way one party wants, they take to the media to try and force their hand. Cris isn't the only one to do it, he's the just highest profiled one to do it. My theory is the same, it's all about group dynamics. And if what I've seen mentioned in other comments is true - that he was upset about not spending time with his family on the anniversary of his fathers death - then that only further backs it up. His public acknowledgement of being "sad" is a reminder to the club that he's an important part of it, and something is going on that isn't allowing for his needs to be met, or he feels they aren't being listened to. He gives the media a mini heart attack, RM has a tiny bit of damage control, and then they sit down and hug it out or whatever.

Kickette - Soccer/football gossip, hot players and the WAGs that love them : La Liga, Serie A May Soon Disappear For Viewers in America

A. Best pic of Iker, weirdest pic of Pepe. It's pretty much perfect. B. I have satellite and I never get La Liga/Serie A games, at least on any ESPN channels. I think I've seen one El Classico listed on ESPN Deportes, and that didn't even record when I set it to (that though is a DVR issue). Granted, I haven't checked in a while so maybe that's changed, but from my understanding I had to order a special package to see Serie A and La Liga games, and I've been far too lazy to actually do anything about it. I'm also not sure I want to get it. Either I spend half my time watching soccer and annoying everyone in my life with random stats (between baseball, Euro's, Tour de France and the Olympics, I've successfully made this the most annoying summer for my poor friends and family), or I won't have time to watch any of it and it'll be a waste of an extra $15 or so dollars a month. So, status quo it is, for now. Although, if any of you guys have DirectTV and can enlighten me, please do! Maybe I'll change my tune.

Kickette - Soccer/football gossip, hot players and the WAGs that love them : Weekend Results: Scary Monsters & Super Tents

Mexico's win was a surprise, and I think it was a combination of 2 things. A) They didn't totally change their style of play. Most teams had bunkered down in an effort to stifle Brazil, Mexico said, "to hell with it" and went for the jugular, which wasn't good for Brazil because... B) Brazil got lazy. They're so insanely talented that winning seemed certain, and they got complacent as a result. Their back line had a few issues and they didn't have their top keeper. Because they're so talented on the ball, no one (except Mexico) paid attention, including Brazil, until it was too late. It was sad to see Brazil lose, and watching Oscar face-plant after that missed header just made me want to smother him with XOXO's, but Mexico was outstanding and totally deserved the win. I think it'll also be a good lesson to Brazil. That team is young and full of stars, but they need to hone their patience and maybe the art of teamwork a bit more and hopefully the next U-23 can come back in 4 years with those skills intact and grab gold. It's certainly something I would love to see :). On an unrelated note, an odd thing to come out of this Olympics is my father, the casual soccer fan, is now Neymar's biggest super fan in the world. I was not expecting that. Neymar's all he's talked about for 2 weeks straight. He keeps comparing him to Bobby Orr (his first love is hockey), so i'm pretty sure a mashup of their amazing passing skills will soon be organized by him. Oi. So Brazil, if you see a super crazed American who can't speak a word of Portuguese jumping up and down in any and all of your sports venues in 4 years, yeah that's my dad. Good luck.
