Network for Church Monitoring : NY Bishop Rape Shames Abuse Victims: Boys Are ‘Culpable’ For Their Actions At 7 Years Old

I have been a cradle Catholic and the vast majority of priests are good and humble servants of God. There are pedophiles in all faiths. Yes, it is an abomination that the few would prey on the vulnerable. Christ didn't stop his church because of Judas. The only perfect Church is the Church Triumphant in heaven. We are all sinners. Our society is addicted to porn, has no concept of right and wrong, women dress like prostitutes when they come to church, our sex obsessed society, and we shake our heads when we don't have holy priests. They are a reflection of the moral corruption of our society.

Funny, never met an atheist on their death bed and when I have, they died a horrible death. They did not die peacefully as those who believe. So if there is no God, why then the despair and utter fear of death?

Is that why it has lasted over 2000 years despite despot rulers and governments trying to suppress it? Christ promised it would prevail and despite hate from people like you it has and will!

No excuse for what some bad priests have done but stop the baloney. All denominations including teachers have this problem. you never hear the press go after the teachers but love to publish the church scandals. So it is NOT just a Catholic problem. It always amazes me that this is brought up to justify an evil. They are BOTH evil.

Many people can pay for a cell phone or get government assistance. Even the poor in this country are better off than in the third world. No comparison to the two. Who will come to the rescue when the baby is killed in the womb? NO ONE

Amen 5 star. People want 'choice" but won't see the crosses or look at the pictures of fully formed babies dead with the spinal chord cut so they stop breathing, or the injection of potassium into the heart to stop it or the suctioning of the brain. Why if this is so good, can't people look at a cross or pictures of what it looks like. This is the new holocaust no one wants to acknowledge. Wonder why there is no tax base? 60 million citizens have been sacrificed to the god of greed

Don't you already have access to all of what you state? So why are you asking me? By the way embryonic stem cell research hasn't produced the results that you all touted as the reason for destruction of human life. There are plenty of stem cells from placentas which are more rich in stem cells. You all use that as a reason for destroying life. Yes cancer patients have access to medical marijuana and it works great to help them with cachexia

We as Catholics just want to be left alone without government interference. By the way the Catholic Church started most of the hospital systems in the US and Europe. Elizabeth Seton, Catherine Drexel. The Catholic Hospitals are by far the biggest contributor to indigent care.

No one including the Catholic Church is infringing on your rights. You may chose to get your contraceptives, abortions etc but the Catholic Institutions will not provide it for you. What about the separation of Church and State that you all so often site? Where is the separation when the Government is now telling the Church what to do. There is no conspiracy to get rid of your ability to obtain these things. The outcry is the coercion by the government on the Church. So much for separation of church and state

Since when is an ultrasound rape. I guess when you go to your provider and are complaining of belly pain for instance, he or she is "raping" you by ordering an ultrasound? Get real. You just do not want to see what your "choice" looks like. You might have to face the fact that by time you discover you are pregnant, the fetus already has a beating heart. Talk about rape? Don't you think the fetus feels pain as it's body parts are removed or saline injected into the skull?

When you have surgery, would you not expect the surgeon to xray, MRI or ultrasound the area that was to be surgically removed? You would be crying malpractice, if the surgeon did not do a thorough evaluation. Why is it then, that the pro choice camp does not want to see what they are 'Choosing" to remove? You might see a six or seven week fetus with a beating heart. I think it is because you really do not want to see what you are destroying. That is what the flack is all about

Brainchild, if you are a physician and I believe you are based on your comments, you know that citing retrospective experience is a very weak study indeed. The study authors stated the following, The majority of studies included in the review were subject to multiple limitations. Here is a statement from the study Limitations The majority of studies included in the review were subject to multiple limitations. These included: secondary data analysis of national surveys and retrospective study designs; heterogeneity in the mental health outcomes assessed and methods of assessment; inadequate control for confounding variables and inappropriate comparison groups, included comparing women who had had an abortion with those who had given birth without considering whether or not the pregnancy was wanted; and inadequate control of previous mental health problems. You know that retrospective studies are very weak and few researchers give them credibility. It is more believable if a prospective study is done following women for decades. Most women have difficulty long after the experience especially when they begin to have a family of their own. Wonder why Rachel's Vineyard Ministries run by the Catholic Church for women who have had an abortion and are looking for inner healing, are so busy helping these "fictional women"

Brainchild, you should know better than to cite retrospective data. A good study would be one that would follow these women for decades: a prospective study has more credibility.

There are plenty of places to obtain birth control. How about Planned Parenthood if you can't afford it? What is happening is the government is taking away freedoms and telling groups/ people what they think you should do even if it conflicts with the groups beliefs. That is like me telling a sushi place, they should serve Kosher foods or Italian made foods. Well maybe the sushi place just wants to make sushi. Are they being bigoted by not serving what I prefer? No, I will go elsewhere to get what I like.

Now truth is based on what the masses want? Truth is based on the commandments. The masses cried and screamed for the blood of Christ. Were they right because that is what the masses wanted, the crucifixion of Christ? The masses do not determine what is right and wrong. Sounds like Pilate when he asked what is the truth. What the majority want and what is morally right are two different things. The masses in Europe want physician assisted suicide, so that is right? That is called moral relativism and that is what is going on today. The masses in ancient Rome sacrificed their children to the gods. So the masses were correct because that is what they wanted? No truth comes from the Holy Spirit who enlightens hearts that are pure and seek the truth. You are talking about the world and not of what is from above. I don't think God wanted 50 million innocent lives slaughtered on the altar of greed. " Not a good time for me to have this child etc." People pray the Our Father all the time and say, thy will be done, but do not pray to ask Him what is His will. What they are doing is my will be done. Truth is eternal, it does not change with the passing norms of a society.

I commend you if you have done that, but your profane description tells me there is more hate to you than love. When you judge others as you have judged Mother Teresa, you will be judged the same way. Christ said, Judge and you will be judged. Show mercy and you will be granted mercy. Despite the Catholic position on life issues, people who know their faith know that one can not judge another because one does not know the soul as God does. When I see a wrong, I pray for that person, that the Holy Spirit will enlighten them and leave the rest up to God. I also have found that when a person calls another derogatory names, there is usually deep seated hurt there. I will pray for you that whatever troubles you, the Good Lord will heal. I think we have come to the end of our debate, but will keep you in my daily prayers. God Bless

You are so correct. The left hasn't learned how to debate or fight fair. In psychology, they call it garbage dumping and so many of these comments are garbage dumping. Funny, Judas' betrayal didn't prevent Christ from starting His church. There will always be Judas among the gems. you never hear the left talk about Padre Pio the Stigmata Monk who died in 68,Francis of Assisi, Peter who was martyred, etc etc, nor the contributions that the Catholics have done through the ages, ie hospitals, hospice, schools, institutions of learning. The bottom line on this debate is the left insisting on their rights but no one who conflicts with their rights have any rights. They have it is all about me syndrome. I believe it is called a narcissistic personality.,
