Tony...I had Obama volunteers for Renewing America come out to my school. They were absolutely outstanding. I believe that I will end up with a volunteer crew (Father willing, and the creek don;t rise!), They made such an impression on the faculty and the students that I was happier than I had been at work for quite a while. I will be developing many more events. I expect to have more volunteers tomorrow.This has truly energized me. I must say, however, the government gave me the tools, USAService.org, and I developed the event. Why don't you set up an event too? If your employer does not care for the idea then, that can be a problem....brainstorm. Make it happen, it is worth it.

Laurie..I have been looking for you on the blog to tell you thanks. You inspired me to really participate in the USA Service program President Obama has started.. I will be volunteering with 7 other people (I think), to help the school kids who have been abandoned or neglected by their parents. I feel very hopeful about this! I believe we can really make a difference if we try.

It was amazing Terry. Nobody I talked to could remember anything Warren said. I guess it is true what they say. You get back what you put out there. He rejected so many people...that the people rejected him by not opening their spirits to him. That is why no one really heard him. The MSM and some radio shows replayed Lowery. He is funny and make people feel happy, butI have not heard a word about Warren since the inauguration. Who would focus on hatefulness,when we have hope in our hands? President Obama has all of my support.
Oh...I see what you mean, Laurie. That catch 22 thing is messing up the works. I have a clear understanding of how that works...I lived through it when I was younger. I was a single parent, and I could not work and take care of my baby...so I ended up on public aid. I tried to see if I could sneak and work because I did not have any money at the end of the month either. They found out, sent me a threatening letter and took the money I made on a part time job out of my check. I had to quit my job because I needed the the medical benefits. It took a long time for me to get off public aid...all because I needed the medical card. Too, I really needed the food stamps as well. My part time job did not pay enough to cover all the costs I had. I guess my idea wasn't such a good one...
Laurie...the school system in my town pays 300 dollars per hour for such speakers. Most speakers take up about 2 hours. They become vendors, and they just let
people know they are available. I came back on line to say I am in no way talking about you doing any freebies
Your story is worth more than that.Why? Because that knowledge did not come to you easily. You have actually paid for that knowledge...others who listen
should have to pay too.
Laurie... have you considered being a speaker at schools and other organizations? There are so many people who could learn from you. The accident cannot be erased, but it is possible to
take a tragedy and turn it into a point of personal
power. Testimonies are tremendous...not only for the listener, but
for the speaker as well.
