Big Hollywood : Again? Tracy Morgan Under Fire for 'Retarded' Jokes

The problem is that you should be free to make any joke you want, if people feel offended the hell with them. That is what free speach means. When you have something like "The Arc, an advocacy group for people with disabilities", and use that against a citizen that use words that did offend you, your are a bully. If you don't like the joke, don't go see the guy, or just ignore him.

Big Hollywood : The Captivating Glare of 'Friday Night Lights'

Opus, "That would be original" I have a real problem with this ideia. Originality can be in lots of places in a drama; it can be on the way characters can be portrayed, the way cameras are used, etc. Originality is as good as it helps to better give shape to the experience the drama is trying to say, because it is not a end in itself its a way to it you portrait something. Even with you don't like football - I'm from Brazil (land of soccer), and have a hard time trying to understand these crazy game where men jump on each other - I can relate to tragedy (bad things that happen to good people), loving the impossible girl, being under pressure to deliver, etc. These show is about the internal world of the characters, and for that you don't need a original plot, just that the characters are shown as avarage people, with normal problems. Originality for the sake of it, is a kind fetisch.

Friday Night Lights is a show about the human spirit. Football is just a scenario on these series about a bunch of kids, and girls, becoming men and women. You like the characters, love how they are just like your friend next door - or maybe yourself, even - you will love how coach Taylor is a man you would like to have as your kids teacher. Brilhant TV.

"3/4 of their problems would be solved if they just got rid of the dam football team. " I don't know about real schools, but in the show the football team works as a simbol of lives meaning; something that puts actions that are aparently incoherient into a meaning. Try to re-watch it thinking not of football, but life.

"Peter Berg's production values are superb" Yes, this even remember me that when I was watching The Kindom I notice something familiar to it and then I found out that Berg was the director. He knows how to create the mood to give his characters root for their actions. A solid director and producer.

"Dyson is a more sophisticated thinker than you, better read, and more articulate" Well, I think that says more about your education - or the non-existence, of it - than that of Mr Breitbart. as they say: GO WAY TROLL!

Dear Mr. Breitbart, I think what you did was a very good effort. It's true a fight must be done. The only problem is the arms you are using. Conservatives have lots of venues to express their opinion - not as much as liberals, but still good -, but when you go a place like the Real time you have to know that the important thing is not debate - won't be any debate, liberals don't do that - but to attack.

"who wants to impose, by force of law, religious doctrine on society" And what about the laws who want to impose atheists doctrine on society? Liberty is a important concept, but not a absolute one. Someone has to draw the limits; what you are really saying is that you have a problem wiht religious boundaries, something that is not a real argument.

Really? I honestly can belive that? How that happened? The reason I ask is because here for more than 30 years the ideia of lowering taxes just disappeared from the collective mind. I have never seen any politician talk about it. They only fight to see how they will spend it. At least over there you have some maistream people that present a very good case for the taxs cut. Not here, not here :-(

I'm sick of arguments like this. They are so general that in the end the only thing that you are saying is that someone is bad and the other is good. But let's go. "Just think of all those innocent civilllians he killed when he invaded their country" Well, their country is kind of a stretch, since it was Saddam's country. And some of the inocent got killed and some are now free. The real point is that only the Iraquians can say for sure if the war was right or wrong, and even them will have to wait some time to see where their country - I think democracy makes the expression better now - ends up. "Surely then he must have had the entire regulatory system of the USA turn a blind eye when his rich friends looted the world's economies." Get your facts straight. Even I now that the problem started much before Bush. "Of course he's evil" I don't think anyone said evil. Just said that his ideias were not very good ones. But as you are so bright, you could try to make me understand some of them, don't you? God that was fun!
