Sir Terry lived in Broad Chalke Wiltshire the Uffington White horse is next to the village of Uffington Oxfordshire. They’re about 58 miles apart (1hr 32minute drive) - Its is not a big country and geologically I think much of southern England is part of the same swathe of Cretaceous Chalk even if each area has different local names.

I totally agree a great espousal of the beauty of countryside life and the spiritual connection that you can have to the land. I’d like to add to it on the other element of living in the country that city folk for want of a better word also miss.

It’s easy to get carried away in the romanticism of farming and nature but people often miss the livelihood side. Farmers often have a deep connection to the land they farms for generations but a big part of their lives is also the practicalities of a business.

Saving the lambs life is also a practical business decision as that animal ultimately represents feeding your children.

A friend of mine was vilified recently for having to sell some land to property developers. However the profit from the land sale enabled him to build much better cattle sheds and beef rearing systems that enabled him to cut costs... this in turn has enabled the rest of the farm to survive and now the business is healthy. Without the small land sale the whole business that had been I. The family for generations was threatened with going under.

I loved Terrahawks (80s kid here...), and Stingray, and Thunderbirds, and Joe 90, and Captain Scarlett and Fireball XL5 basically anything by Gerry Anderson really...

hey I’m still slightly obsessed with Thunderbirds. Even the new CGI and miniatures one that they’re showing now is good.

I’d also say that coming from Llamedos he’s a play on the Welsh sergeant trope... looking at the film Zulu or the TV series It ain’t are Hot Mum as examples of that.

If you’ve not seen either beware, the colonial racism in them is very much a product of the times they were made, it can be a very unpleasant thing to watch now.
