Big Government : The Killer B’s Will Give CA 16% Unemployment

The commenters are missing a couple of points. First, the consequences of the damage done to California won't be limited to Calilfornia, it will drag down the entire national economy. Secondly, much of the damage was done not by Californians but by the federal government. It wasn't California that turned off the water in the Central Valley, it was the feds. Schadenfreude should be kept to a minimum.

NewsReal Blog : Jon Stewart Doubles Down on Supporting Ground Zero Mosque

Although I don't question the "right" of anyone to build a structure to be used for a lawful purpose, I am one of the apparently tiny minority of extremists who question whether the promotion of islam through jihad, stealthy or open, should be considered a lawful purpose. Why should we supinely accept that a "religion" that includes among its doctrines polygamy, execution of apostates and the ultimate subjection and humiliation of all kuffars among other horrors, qualifies for protection under the exercise clause of the First Amendment, any more than the Church of Latter Day Saints did before it abandoned its doctrinal adherence to polygamy?.

Robert Ferrigno has written a couple of novels, "Prayers for the Assassin", and "Sins of the Assassin" both of which deal, with somewhat mixed success, with life in a partly islamicized United States. The first book in particular has some very well conceived and well written sections. Both could easily be made into movies.

Jihad Watch : Jihad Watch: Attorney General issues statement on protecting American Muslims

It is a pretty good rule of thumb that the predictable consequences of political acts, especially when they are the result of much deliberation and planning, are also the intended ones. The predictable consequences of the speech are to strengthen Islam, weaken the United States and the rest of the non-muslim world and make Israel defenseless.

Jihad Watch : Jihad Watch: Raymond Ibrahim: Needing more than a Blessing

"In the long run, of course, nothing Obama said today makes any difference." Would that it were so. The predictable effect of his speech will be to undermine efforts in the United States and in the rest of the non-muslim world to resist Islam's relentless progress. Every ignorant and lazy politician on the local, state and federal level now has a ready made excuse to capitulate to muslim demands for preferential treatment and special accomodations, while, conversely the president's statements are bound to discourage those who attempt to mount resistance to islamic incursions. Another predictable effect is to demoralize dissenters from islamic tyranny and thought control in the muslim world. All in all, a good day's work of difference-making.

Jihad Watch : Jihad Watch: Fitzgerald: Obama\'s Cairo Nonsense

The current occupant of the White House is not abandoning liberalism. He was never a liberal in the classical or any other meaningful sense. He is a revolutionary. It is tempting to turn Mr. Fitzgerald's exhortations to read and study around and implore him to read and study the president's own books and those of his intellectual mentors, the books written about him and his associates and the books and articles written by and about his friends and fellow travelers. It is dreary and depressing reading, but they are the only reliable sources of information about who he is. Listen to the tapes of his "pastor". They tell you more about him than his speeches, which are bad enough.

Jihad Watch : Jihad Watch: Obama: The United States is "one of the largest Muslim countries in the world"

The president is speaking in the optative not in the indicative mood. He obviously knows that his words do not describe current realities. Consequently, his motive for saying what he is saying can only be to help usher in the not yet achieved reality he describes. This is elementary revolutionary technique. The predictable, and consequently most likely the intended effect of his words is to encourage muslims residing in the United States aggressively to pursue their demands for special consideration, and at the same time to provide craven, lazy and ignorant politicians on the federal, state and local level the cover, alibi and excuse to persist in their ignorance and succumb to such demands.

"Does he think he can play fast and loose with the nature of this country?" The answer, plainly is "yes, he does." And, what is more, he is getting away with it. Look at the stunningly intrusive interventions in the economy his administration has been able to pull off in such a short time.
