GazetteOnline.com : Linn County to mull second amphitheater proposal

The mount Trashmore idea sounds great, but have you walked down the trail down that way. The Cargill plant would drown out the music. Other than that, a great idea.

GazetteOnline.com : City Manager Jim Prosser resigns

Didn't Prosser get rid of 70 or so people when he did the re-org. We should forever thank him for that. Being the first manager for a new form of government is an impossible enough job without having to deal with a flood like we had. Good job Jim, you have nothing to apologize for.

GazetteOnline.com : Iowa City to discuss merits of water fluoridation

I used to live in Camanche Iowa, which did not have floridated water. Next door was Clinton, which did. For some reason I had several friends that were dentists. They all said that as soon as a kid opened their mouth they could tell where they lived. The Camanche kids were lousy with cavaties. This has been settled years ago.

I remember an old DM Register columnist saying the perfect news story has three P's. Police, Politicians and Prostitutes. This story has two of three.

GazetteOnline.com : Public invited to weigh in on Linn County building options

Paying $9,000,000 for 24,000 SF is $375/sq ft. You can't hardly spend that much money for a building. They could probably rent for $10/sq ft. Building the new floor makes no sense.
