There is a disclaimer in the game files that say this.

This build is not allowed to be played at big events such as EVO (Though I'd consider brony conventions to be ok) This is a non-profit project intended to be freeware for entertainment purposes only. This is the word for word disclaimer so mane6 should be safe.

So no hard feelings toward those of us who were stubborn enough to avoid this masterpiece of a cartoon for so many years. I'm in the minority who just joined. I really hate that, wished i joined up when i first heard about all of this. Oh well.
