Might just be me, but I would say that most flood victims do not feel "stimulated".

GazetteOnline.com : Meetings set for August on Cedar Rapids Medical Mall proposal

I am confused that someone would "thumbs down" this post. This person is just looking for ease for his family. I support this plan myself. I think that the second avenue issue should be put to a vote. The medical district could use sky walks instead of closing streets.

GazetteOnline.com : City to reimburse flood victims for personal possessions

We were told by the government that we did not need flood insurance. Every last dime I have had in the last two years has gone into recovering from the flood. I have spent over 120,000 (80,000 of my own) dollars on repairing my home and now it is only worth 40,000. If I had flood insurance, I would not have rebuilt. I would have paid my house off and let it go. But I could not, I have a mortgage. If my family qualifies for this money, I plan on putting a new roof on my house. I doubt that we will due to Duplication of Benefits. Again, which i am fine with as well. I wish some LOST money would go into flood protection.

I am with you on this one Todd. There should have been at least a Q&A session or two. Something to make the public feel a little more comfortable especially when we just went through years of back room dealing. I do like the hire though.

You know, I was supportive of your statement until you became beligerant. Yes, we lost "stuff". That "stuff" was a symbol for the past hundred years or more. The history of our families. It is a great loss. Howvere, there could be a better way that the people of Time Check could memorialize the losses we have suffered.

As a flood victim, I think that I did walk at least an inch in his shoes. I dealt with FEMA and other government agencies. I even met with Jim Prosser and I was unimpressed. Mr Prossser and his cronie Tom even escorted me out of a town meeting when my views did not coincide with theirs at the time.
